Dooley had us in position to be far, far worse than that. I think CBJ has done a fine job in limited time. I'm looking forward to a team that will actually have a chance to be coached well. The 2014 class will be much stronger too.

I really hope we do not end being 1 behind Vandy....but yes 21 is not bad considering our record the past few years. Jones did great at his previous schools with less talent. Once he can have a full year he will bring us up

Thank you for an optimistic and realistic post. I know it sucks we missed out on some big names but if it wasnt for CBJ and our staff we would have never even been mentioned by them. This class is still going to be good and feel some needs. Hopefully there are still a few surprises some where

Some of you will say the current coach, whoever it is, is doing a fine job.

It's hard to get top 10 recruits without a much longer relationship. We also still have a chance to get some players after today. 2014 will be his first true judgement in regards to recruiting.

Ill take it considering we were like 47th two weeks ago. I think the Vonn Bell debacle really stung us and we are not seeing reality clearly right now. I said Id be ecstatic with a top 15 class, so I really cant be all that disappointed. But, why do I feel so disappointed? lol

I don't care where this class is ranked. There are some bright spots but the difference between this class and the top 10 teams is like the distance between Earth and the galaxy Abell 1835 IR1916, which lies some 13.2 billion light years away.

i think it ended for the vols when they hired dooley.

the fulmer contract extension > subsequent firing of fulmer with big buyout > hiring lane Kiffin with weak contract protection > hiring Dooley with huge buyout.

I think that's the chronology

If it ended then go be a Bammer.....The fact that we finished WAY out of the top 25 last season and will close a top 25 class in recruiting says a lot for CBJ. We already have some really talented athletes who just need the right coaching. I've said it so many times, look at how highly ranked Texas and Notre Dame's classes have been over the last decade but they really haven't been all that impressive. On the flip side, look at teams like Boise State and TCU who produce great TEAMS because they have a solid, stable coaching staff. Negavols need to bounce...:bash:
