I don't know much about Kiffin's offensive scheme. Which one of our 3 little QB's might work best in his system? Can he turn one of them around?

I have to say BJ if we use one of the 3 there but I am banking on a freshman possibly doing well enough to possibly pull rank.

I think with a "Good" QB coach than I would say Nick Stephens or Coleman, but its probably gonna be a Freshman. I mean look what Cutcliff did for E.Ainge. The year before last Ainge was terrible, Cutcliff comes back and Ainge looks like a brand new man. Its all about the coach and how he can prepare his QB and call plays that help his QB out! Clawsen did not do anything to help his QB's out.

Not sure any of our current three will work in that offense if it is as similar to USC's as Coach Kiff wants us to believe, everyone says that Tahj Boyd is more than just an athlete at QB and he can actually throw too so only time will tell with that. Of the 3 we have now, Stephens was the lesser of the three evils this season, IMO.

None of them are capable...He'll have to bring his own in to properly run it.

None.
He will recruit news ones immediately!

I like the idea but according to Rivals there isn't a single Pro-Style 4-5* that isn't committed. Boyd (assuming he stays with us) is one of the top 5 Dual Threat guys and there are two other DT top 5's uncommitted. Personally I'm always a little dubious about the DT guys. A significant portion of them lived by their legs in HS and end up being "athletes" in college.

Next year might still be mediocre at QB. If the D can keep up and we get a little more run production we could still find some ways to win.

Thats difficult to say. They will all have their chance to prove that they should be the starter. maybe crompton can improve and be alot better with a new coach. He does have the toughness kiffin said he was looking for. Coleman looked ok but I have only seen him play the one game. It will be interesting to see next year thats for sure.

The same way ohio state did with Pryor. Stephens will start with Boyd's pt increasing every game until he proves he can start.

I agree with some other posters on here...I don't think we have a QB capable of running a CLK offense. However, Coleman has that "can do" attitude that may mesh with Kiffin's coaching. Let's get Boyd just to be safe!

I haven't seen Coleman play. Crompton has many areas of improvement opportunity but he does have some arm strength and seems to be fearless, might be an aspect to build on. Stephens is more a pro style QB but he is very green.

Coleman needs a lot of work but he's probably the most excited guy to be on the field.

To be honest, we just dont know yet, because of OL play, they all have a positive, and negatives. But with QB coaching and better OL play, to say none of them, I think a bit unfair at this point. Also you look back at USC, I would say Carson Palmer would be the only QB with a big time live arm, the rest, Leinart, Booty, and Sanchez(I would say his the best of this lot, though) all were smart QB"s who threw on time in a very good offensive scheme. We also talk about the homerun hitters, again looking at USC, that hasn't really come from the wide-outs. Turner, Williams, Jarrett, on and on, big, physical recievers who catch the ball well in traffic and make people miss. Throw in a Steve Smith, Fred Davis, none of these guys considered burners, that has seemed to come from the backfield with Bush, McKnight, and the likes. I can't wait to see how this pans out, and to see the difference from this past year to the next few using some of the same players and they are incorporated.

Crompton looked a lot better against Kentucky. Of course, I'm not counting on that next season, which is why I hope Boyd is the next Tee Martin.

Boyd is a passer who can make plays running... He's not a runner who can throw sometimes.

Boyd is the best dual threat QB available. Go watch highlights of the guys ranked above him and they run most of the time like you are saying. In fact many of the calls were designed keepers... but then watch Boyd. He is in another league passing as far as dual threat guys go.

Not saying that he is the best but Crompton will probably begin the season as the starter. Maybe this year was his wake up call. With more intense pratices it will transfer into better performances in games.

Sorry but you don't know that for sure. Coach Cut recruited Coleman for a reason. If anyone knows QBs it's Cutty. I think with a good coach to work with him he has potential. Our upperclassmen talk about his leadership skills. Crompton is a lost cause and not sure about Stephens.

With a new system and offense and everyone basicly starting over, I would say Boyd.

Boyd. And he is not a dual threat. He ia a pocket passer who CAN run. 25 tds 6 picks in high school are great passing numbers. He can throw and make decisions. I think its kinda racist for every one to say he is a dual threat qb because he is black. He is listed as pro-style by the recruiting sites. On his profiles they talk of his passing skill.
