To hear the national media, and much of Haslam run media; Volnation and Vol Twitter's actions in getting rid of Schiano has ruined any chance we have of getting a good coach. I keep hearing "no decent coach will ever want to come here."

It seems to me, though, that if we were down to Schiano, then apparently no decent coach wanted to come here anyway.

Either that, or Currie, Haslam and sad to say, Manning, were not reaching too high when looking.

Which is it Volnation?

JMO! Believe put feelers out. No nibbles. Went with Shiano believing an upgrade. I believe he would have been. Certainly had some loses but a goid coach reviews and implements changes. Certainly not the eye candy we thought we finally deserved

We probably didn’t offer anyone decent anything more than a free fry coupon at mcd’s to come coach for us

About to lay over 300mil into stadium renovations but can’t offer a bigger name coach than schiano enough money to come to UT and produce a championship contender. It’s BS.

This is all on Currie and Haslam and Peyton needs to back away fast before his hands get dirty playing the puppet

Can you name other programs that were seriously considering him?

I keep hearing this "He's a good coach" narrative. Florida and Ucla didn't interview him that I am aware of. His name doesn't ever really come up when discussing who will end up at Ark, Miss st, A&M, Arizona state etc.

If he's a qualified coach, why has his name generated so little buzz before yesterday?

We had very little to zero chance at getting Gruden, Mullen, Frost, Petersen, Patterson or Kelly.

The ability to pay $6mm+ says otherwise. Money talks.

The national media is right. The fans went on a witch hunt and bagged their witch, and now Tennessee will have to deal with the repercussions of a fan base that appears equal parts passionate and irrational.

I like the way you're thinking.

I've yet to see anything other than speculation that Peyton was even remotely involved in this search. Do you have hard proof that Peyton or fulmer for that matter have a voice in this hire?
