Asked what newcomer was most ready to play, Taylor said Denarius Moore.
“He’s made the biggest jump for me,” Taylor said. “He’s showed up. He knows how to work. He’s got some dynamics and he’s a tough kid.”

Who expected that answer?

Moore has flown under the radar for a long time now. I still expect Jones, Berry, and O'Neal to make a bigger impact during their careers at receiver, though. I've heard Moore is one of the fastest players on the team and has long strides which make him break past defenders and able to be a deep-threat type of receiver. Also said he's caught near-everything thrown to him. Keep up the good work, Moore.

I think wiht Moore they are trying him out in the punt return game. They're giving him every opportunity to get on the field in one way or another.

I haven't heard much about Vinson so far in fall practice. Wonder if he will be ready?

I realize that he hasnt really done anything yet, but it just reminds me that recruiting is such an inexact science.

If it wasn't for the monster year Texas had or the state he was in, he would, without a doubt, be a 4* player. A lot of Texas guys were high on him, saying he was much underrated. He wasn't exactly flying under the radar, either, especially with his offer list.

Looks like O'Neil has been the standout in fall practice. Handcock needs to show up!!

No, we don't have a dominant enough NT right now. Brimfield surely has the size for one. I don't think we'll see 3-4 out much at all this year. And yeah, O'Neal has had a tight Hamstring, so he's been sitting out the last few days. Coaches have said he's falling behind a bit, because he has missed practice... he should be ready to go tomorrow tho

He is a big time player. Didn't he play in high school with Lennon Creer. He might have been a little overshadowed. His high school coach came on one of these boards and said he would get playing time this year and would be a big time receiver for us. Glad to hear it from Trooper

Of those receivers O'Neal has been injured and didn't Vinson miss some practice time that was school work related?

I guess the only one that I am surprised not to hear more about is Gerald Jones.

Sounds like the same thing they said about Hancock last year.

I thought the same thing. But if you think back, Moore was one of the guys mentioned in 7 on 7's in the summer that looked good.

Moore was an afterthought really. Many thought we were showing interest in him just to get Creer, but that wasn't the case. When Trooper was down in Tatum to watch Creer, Moore really stood out to him. Just another case of star ratings not being the end-all when it comes to evaluating talent. Good pick up by Troop. Darnius should be a solid wide out.

Very impresseive about Darnius Moore. I would have expected to hear more about Jonea and Vinson though. And what is up with Chris Donald?

Denarius is the official spelling. It's on his birth certificate, but his high school spelled it wrong, or something along those lines.
