No it’s not.

From the Orange Bowl website: “The Capital One Orange Bowl will host the ACC versus the highest ranked available team, from the B1G, SEC, or Notre Dame.
Sorry should have been more specific - meant the MCB

With Oregon winning the P12 championship in the fashion that they did, that should knock Utah out of the NY6. That would mean that Auburn should slide into either the Cotton or Orange bowl. That would pretty much guarantee that UT ends up in Tampa vs Minnesota.

No, it pretty much guarantees that Utah is going to the Cotton Bowl (unless Wisconsin upsets OSU and pushes them out of the playoffs and into the Orange Bowl...then UF would go to the Cotton Bowl instead). The committee has shown that it doesn’t tend to drop teams more than around 2-3 spaces after a conference championship game loss, and at 11-2 Utah isn’t falling 7 to 8 spaces and behind a 9-3 Auburn after one.

The only thing it guarantees at this point is that Alabama and Auburn are both likely pushed out of the New Years 6 bowls, with a high likelihood that Alabama would be pushed back to the Citrus Bowl and Auburn into the “Pool of 6” range of the Outback/Gator/Music City/Belk/Liberty/Texas Bowls.

There's no way Memphis gets in the Cotton bowl over Bama or Auburn let alone slide Auburn all the way down to the Outback. Bama gets the Citrus after just losing to them?

1 non P5 gets a NY 6 Bowl -- Memphis is the highest rated they get it if they win today

Correct. The highest ranked, non-Power 5 school has to be given a New Years 6 spot. It’s pretty much:

(1) If Memphis beats Cincinnati today, Memphis goes to the Cotton Bowl.

(2) If Memphis loses to Cincinnati and Boise Stare beats Hawaii, Boise State goes to the Cotton Bowl.

(3) If Cincinnati beats Memphis and Hawaii beats Boise State, Cincinnati goes to the Cotton Bowl.

247 just switched us to the MCB. I wouldn’t mind going but the date and time is just horrible.
