So Matthews thinks we can't get anyone good, yet thinks some big program will get Fulmer?

Whatever dude.

This is stupid.

Matthews' "argument" is that because UT is expected to beat Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Vandy, Kentucky, South Carolina, etc., that it won't be an attractive job.

As if Alabama, Florida, Georgia and all the other big programs don't say you need to strive to beat all the teams you play. Ridiculous.

any coach worried about beating Vandy, SC and UK should be banned from coaching D-I football (and maybe D-2)

He says Gruden would PROBABLY not be a good college coach because he doesn't have alot of college experience.

Trust me, Matthews was singing a different tune, at the beginning of the year, claiming Tennessee can play and should compete year in and year out with the best in the SEC... Now that his shadow is leaving, he is downplaying the program, and to me, that makes me pretty angry.... He claims he loves the University and such, but then gets on the radio or whatever outlet will have him and downplays the head coaching job.... He is part of the bigger problem, in that the " network " that has surrounded UT for decades wants to protect their hierarchy and now that they see their grasp slowly slipping away they are doing their best to take the program with them...
