BEFORE ANYONE GETS UPSET SAYING TO STEP BACK FROM THE CLIFF.....

I am totally optimistic that we are still the best team in the SEC, it was the first game. Jitters were there and we came back and still got a win.

But, back to my main point...

How far do you think Tennessee will fall in the Top 25 after that game last night?

I personally think we drop to around 12-15 range.

At least 3-4 spots. It does not matter in the slightest because the AP Poll (or any poll) does not matter as far as playoff ranking.

Told a coworker 12 to 16 earlier. With all the top 10 games this weekend when someone loses they will still be ahead of us because of who they got beat by.

It's a legitimate question. Of course, a lot depends on what happens through the weekend. But I could see us falling a minimum of 3 spots, or as many as 6. Anything lower than #15 would be an over-reaction (by the same voters who, it turns out, may have over-reacted to the pre-season hype and put us a little too high in the first place, heh).

So I'd agree with you, somewhere between #12 and #15 would be "right," depending on games yet to be played, but wouldn't be shocked if we dropped even a bit lower.

Depends on what happens this weekend, but I would imagine that we would drop out of the top 10 to 12-15.

LOL

Nah, not that far. And too soon to tell. It depends on how everyone else does , obviously.

And at any rate, I wouldn't worry about that right now. Clearly, there are some problems. If you fix them and get back on track, you'll end up being just fine. If you don't, rankings will not be an issue.

Hopefully out of the top 10 at the very least.

I'm on the same wavelength with you there. When I saw we were #9 a couple weeks ago you know the "top 10 team" label would be put on them.

For a group of players that isn't used to that, I didn't want that to happen.

Doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is that we beat UF and UGA and win the east. Then the rankings will be all taken care off.

To the contrary.

You're looking way, way too far ahead -- Coach Jones and the Team would tell you it's all about this week / this game. And so -- did we look and play as if THIS week was the most important? We won anyway.

A good, solid, well-played win would have gone a looong way to keeping us inside the top 10, so let's see what happens thru Monday.

Not worried about it. We play Florida on Sept. 24th. Should we win that game, which is not likely after last nights performance, we will quickly climb up the ladder again.

#1 Alabama vs. Ole Miss
#2 Clemson vs. Auburn
#3 Okla homo vs. The Ohio State University
#4 Free Shoes University vs. Ole Miss
#5 L.S. Who vs. Wisconsin
#6 T.O.S.U. vs. Okla homo
#7 Michigan vs. powder puff teams
#8 Stanford vs. USC

So, most of the teams ahead of us are likely to have a loss before October. So, we just need to win our games and the first week of Oct. we will be in good shape.
Of course, Michigan won't lose because they have an easy schedule in Sept.
