Where do we stand on the bowl ban?

From what I've heard, the administration has decided to take a "wait and see" approach, considering all of the NCAA upheaval with NIL. I think the leagues are supposed to meet this month and discuss the NCAA's role in college athletics going forward. I know there's a lot of pushback over the rulebook and many programs want it to basically be re-written so that it's more reasonable and more manageable. How this all will affect Tennessee, who knows but I think we are wanting to see what comes from this first before any decisions are made.

The ncaa is saying they are going to hand down punishment to "multiple" teams "soon", I think it mostly relates to basketball programs, but I'm wondering if our judgment (if any) will be made at that time as well.

Self imposed bowl ban implemented after chances to make a bowl are not possible. Just got a text from my source while I was in a business meeting.

All we can do as a program is win games. The rest will take care of itself. If we do that, even a Bowl Ban this season doesn’t impact recruiting as much if we have created enough positive buzz as an exciting and upcoming team. Play well enough to EARN a bowl. The actual bowl then is great, but not necessary

NCAA will wait until 1 second is left in the bowl game with Tennessee winning and send a representative down to the field to stop the game and inform everyone the the opponent will be awarded with the bowl game victory. They will also require the team to return their bowl gifts whenever they get back to the hotel. And they will not reimburse Tennessee for any expenses incurred during the trip.

With one second left???? This is Tennessee, remember. They take games away from us after the officials declare the game OVER 😡. Remember North Carolina?

LOL, don't say that. I have a soul-like inclination that would be true.

With our 2 losses we wouldn’t even make the playoffs if we won out. Playoff committee would put one loss UGA in over us even tho they didn’t even win the East. Playoff would likely be UGA, Iowa, OU, and Cincy.

I think bowl bans are post season bans so we probably wouldn’t even play in the SEC championship…screw it, I’ll take a 10-2 bow ban season with wins that knocks Bama or UGA out of the playoffs.
