Where Are All The Trooper Taylor Honks?

But look at all the championship staffs Coach Chestbump has been a part of in his career. Oh, wait a second.

I agree with you on TT (surprisingly) but this isn't really a good way to back it up. By my count, 3 of our 9 position coaches have championships...and 2 of them were at USC and the third was in the NFL...so...

I love that saying.. TT caused more controversy then good while he was here. None of the assistant coaches liked him and thats why in the end he was sent away.

Eddie Gran, Lance Thompson, Willie Garza, and Jim Chaney have championships. The only coaches that do not are Frank Wilson, David Reaves, and James Cregg.

Nevermind I was wrong then...didn't look back far enough...but that would still make people like DJ McCarthy from LSU better than Frank Wilson automatically just because they have championships. I don't think that's right.

Purdue never won a title...and Gran's was as a GA. I dont know when Garza won one either...at Texas or at TCU...so as far as national championships its just both Kiffins (if Super Bowls count), Orgeron, and Thompson at LSU really. And Gran as a GA...

You can be a TT homer but don't expect everyone here to feel the same way. In the end he wanted to be OC and CPF along with other coaches like Chavis was against it. Captain Chestbump was told no OC and he left. He was not involved as the OC at Ok St either.

I said I agreed with Hat on TT...aka...I'm glad he's not here...I simply said that lack of an NC alone does not make one a bad coach. Frank Wilson being an example, among many others.

Trooper Taylor has never been on a staff that won as much as a conference title.

Your hatred makes more sense then. Yeah I always forget he missed by a year at Tulane. Conference championships makes more sense...but comparing position coaches based on national championships is not usually a good idea.

Can you blame him for wanting or thinking that he deserved that position though?

I met trooper taylor a few years ago after a game. He's a real stand-up guy. I hated to see him go to OSU and I hated to see him in AU, but I wish him all the best.

Purdue, Gran, and Garza all won conference titles. Trooper Taylor won a tournament of 6 teams that didn't even play the same conference schedule. Whoopty-doo.
