Where's
Waldo Danny?

All but one returning team members have announced their desire to be elsewhere.

Both assistant coaches with prior SEC experience are gone.

Rumors suggest further defections are likely.

From the Athletic Department come the sounds of silence.

Is he too shell shocked to know what to say?

Does he not give a _____?

Is he hoping no one will notice?

What’s your best guess?

Well we can only have one other person leave that is on the team now. Still looking confident that the two freshmen will be here next season of course that could change in a minute.
I guess Danny saying what he said couple weeks ago thinks that is enough. He is all in on her and who cares if we don't have a team right now. She is awesome Tennessee fans are just dumb and don't recognize her greatness. Let her do her thing we will win with her. This past season was the players fault and two Assistants that were not mafia members. So here we are Danny knows all.

1. He's perusing LinkedIn for future opportunities.
2. He's planning a spectacular announcement that will catapult the LV's back into immediate national contention.
(I like this one)
3. He won't do anything soon because he doesn't give a s___.

I think it’s an impossible situation. If he intends to keep her, then he (or Coach Caldwell) has to come out with a statement that either blames the players, or somehow admits that they were the wrong players. I don’t think to people are going to buy the ‘wrong players‘ argument. I don’t think that he can give the “I’ll work with her -she’ll change” argument, because that would be undermining Coach Caldwell too much.

The clock is ticking. The portal opens officially in just a few days. If he doesn’t say something by then, he is leaving every transfer out there to craft their own opinion in their head. I think those opinions are going to be less than favorable.

Sure, he will get a team because some players will be desperate enough to think that it will be different for them. But there’s absolutely no indication to think it’ll be anything other than a train wreck for next year

And one other thought… back in the day, I had a manager who was a “work harder, not smarter“ person. I worked in a highly specialized technology area where there were a few hundred people nationwide who had a particular skill set. In the beginning, the only way to get results was to bulldoze through things. As technology evolved, it got much better, and there were refined ways of doing things that were a lot easier. The tools were constantly evolving and changing. The manager seemed unwilling to change with the tools, and wanted to keep everyone else doing it the old way, because that was the way he understood. Because of his limited understanding and inability to change, he was constantly frustrated with everybody and everybody was frustrated with him. His solution was to just pay people more money, and hope they would put up with him, but it never worked out in the long run, and it was like a revolving door. He got fired in the end, but it took way longer than it should have, and the damage was long lasting.

My point is that people will only put up with crap for so long when they realize that there is a better way to do something. It is cheaper and easier to make changes the minute when you see the problem. That is why you have senior management, so that they can see what needs to be done. Turning a blind eye does nothing.

My guess is he doesn’t give a _____. He knows best and doesn’t feel there is anything to answer, especially not to us low dollar folk. We’re talking about someone who argues and snarks online with fans. As long as the football donors are happy and the money is rolling in from the high dollar benefactors, he feels like everything is perfect.

Just a question. If you are an elite school in an elite conference and end up having to hire an ”up and coming” coach, do you hire one that uses an untested at this level gimmicky system or a coach that uses a traditional system that other schools in the conference use?
I think you are a desperate bottom feeder if you think you need to rely on a gimmicky system. But that’s just me and a miracle could happen and it works.

As doors/season tickets holder's I think we are owned some kind of explanation and plan. Not renewing anything until that happens and suggest you do the same.
This is unacceptable
