Will it end?? Football at Tennessee is just about killing my soul.. When will we win again on a consistent basis ever again? We looked like we played hard Saturday? Our RB's looked like they ran the ball hard. It appeared to me that the players were hitting harder and flying to the ball at times. Man I wish we could catch a break or two during a game!!!

When will people stop whining about this team? We are not good. We won't be good for a couple of seasons...... Go for a long hike on Saturday's if reality is that uncomfortable....

LOL, I've gone on many a long hike on Saturdays, esp. TSIO. I couldn't this year because of an injured foot. The one positive in all this mess the last 10-14 years is that I became a member of the 900 miler club in the Smoky Mountains, hiking all the trails in the park. Almost got my 2nd map done. I really hope the glory days come back soon.

Wishing we could catch a break? Lol, I wish we could field a good team. Good teams chance breaks.

Going into the year I was hoping to beat everyone we were supposed to beat (ETSU, UTEP, CHAR) take 2 of the swing games (MIZZ, UK, VAN) and pull off 1 big upset (WVU, UF, UGA, AUB, ALA, USC). That would be a great year considering where we are at and it's still possible to hit the mark. I see no reason to freak out.

To remedy your dying soul I recommend a healthy dose of realistic expectations.

It is rather baffling that schools like Fresno State, South Florida, Utah, Kentucky, and Appalachian State can build top 25 “programs” yet Tennessee is a perpetual rebuild situation.

And, the “Pirate” has Washington State up there as well. To me, it looks like you gotta have a coach that “fits” and commit to that guy. I believe we have that guy. It’s hard to be patient especially after all the drama this fan base has been through. But it’s the best choice.

Step 1 to fix Battered Vols Syndrome...avoid living vicariously through the football team. "We" didn't do anything". "They" are terrible.

it sure isn't easy thinking about waiting through another off-season for the Vols to return to their rightful place. But there really is no other option. I am really impatient but it took a long time to bleed this program the way it has been. Going to take a while to get some blood back in. I do really expect dramatic improvements next season. I had hoped Pruitt would have us competing better this year. My orange colored glasses though hid our woeful lack of talent from me. It is worse than I had imagined. You can coach effort, technique, morale, and leadership. But you can't coach your way out of a physically outmatched roster.

We have no depth on either line. None. Our starters aren’t great.

That’s where it’s going wrong. Recruiting tough hard nosed linemen will solve some things.
Also, no seniors on the O-line. No excuse for the D-line though other than learning the scheme. I hope Pruitt has some studs signing for the D-line.

What's baffling about it. Can't you say Haslam? SMDH

Simple fix: Stop firing good coaches, stop hiring bad coaches.
