I don't get that either. He obviously wanted to do "the right thing", but his ego wouldn't allow him to do it without it being obvious that he was losing on purpose. All he had to do was drive it in the fairway and then pull the wrong club and either airmail the green, dump it in a bunker, short side it etc.He was trying to do the right thing but my question is why did he have to make it so obvious and hit his drive forty yards out of bounds? If he wanted to lose the match he could have intentionally mis hit a ball or miss a putt.
