When Butch was here, it was the first day after the bricks and trash cans were delivered.

Seriously though, Papaw taught me this early on - spring practice starts about 30 days before the O&W game; Fall practice starts about 30 days plus 1 week before first game of the season...the 1 week is because it's "game week" and coaches want to get the squad into that game week routine without eating into the allowed NCAA practice days.
