When Has Tennessee Ever Taken Charge and Controlled Its Own Destiny

Tennessee over the Past 18 years has had several opportunities to fullfill or complete their on destiny.

The only time I can remember that they controlled their own destiny was 1998 NC Season although it did take some devine Intervention against ARKansas and Miss State.

In 1992 or 1994 we beat FL and GA had a two game lead in the East and Lost to AL, AR and SC.

In 2002 or 2001 could have played for the NC @ the Rose Bowl with a win vs LSU in the SECCG. LOST

When have we ever had a chance to control our own destiny and succeeded during the PF era?????

whoa, this thread is depressing.

but to the originator, i get what you're saying.

it'd be nice to get out of Sept unscathed more often than not just to see what happened.

understanding that nothing is guaranteed, in the 90's when we traditionally lost to FL on the 2nd game of the year, every year, we always be GA during that time span and didn't lose to any other SEC E teams during that same time span.

so, you could determine that had we beaten FL just a couple of times during that time span, we'd of at least played in and maybe won 2-3 more SEC titles....conjecture sure, but 95, 96 and 99 stand out to me as prime examples. 92 was hard.
