I was just wondering about the expectations of most of the Volnations thoughts on when or what the expectations were about us returning to a more dominant SEC team much like Bama and Florida have been over the past few years. My personal expectations are we should see a significant improvement in the 2011 season and maybe 2012 being back to a powerhouse. I am being patient and I think that we have a good staff in place, one thing that I think will set us back is that some of the coaches that were initially brought in have left in a year. I think that we need most of our staff to stay around a while and build some continuity. It does make me mad of these instant gratification fans who aren't very understanding that the cubbord was left almost bone dry and most of the great players we had are seniors or leaving after this year (berry). Fulmer left this team in shambles for Kiffin. Another thing is CLK has never been a college football head coach and CMK hasn't coached college in 30 years or so. They will get worlds better every year imo. This year has definitely been a learning experience for them and they will build on this to make us one of the best again.

2 years max. 2010 will probably be a hard one to watch...

On the bright side, I might join the band in a couple years and get to go to championships. It's worth the wait i think!

I think we make a serious run for the national championship in 2012. Most of our toughest games are at home (Bama and Florida of course, and we get UNC and Arky too), and pretty much all of The Fired Coach's players will be phased out.

There is no way of knowing. One would hope we would have a breakout season in 2011. There is no reason we shouldn't. If we don't win the SEC in 2011 or 2012 then we're in trouble.

It will take 2-3 years to build the roster with top talent. Fulmer left little to work with.

i hate to say it guys but even in the 90's we where not DOMINANTE. i mean we where a great program that always around the top 10 to top 5 but florida always had our number.

you all can bash me all you want but i have been a vol sense birth and was on the campus of UT....

but i think we have this vision of us being like the best football team ever in the 90s and we where great but its just a little unrealistic to say return to dominance.

we need to pump the breaks on all this countdown to national championship time. give this staff some time to build a good supporting cast of players and we will be back in the spotlight again, but i hate to say it we probably will always play second fiddle to alabama as long as saban is there...

I guess we need to quit playing. Just concede to Bama. They're too good forever. Worst post ever!!!!

Maybe but we should have been. No one put as many players in the Pros as we did in the 90's.

I'll be glad when we return to respectability. I loved Coach Fulmer, but he left us in a hole that will take a few years to escape.

I do believe that the current administration is on the right track and look forward to the future.

you can call yourself a vol fan all day long, but i won't believe it. seeing as how you have absolutely no clue that that will be the case.

2011 - Top 15-25
2012 - Top 10-15
2013+ - Top 5-10 Every year with BCS Bowl appearances!

Once this staff gets two or three top 5-10 recruiting classes in with a year or two to develop them we will begin to take off!

When Kiffin stops playing Johnny Majors football and handing off to the tailback on 3rd and 15 and starts going for the wins....Kiffin has a lot of work to do on his play calling...I lost some faith in him when he did that the other night...Not that it matters if I have faith in him or not but I was very disappointed in his play calling when We still had a chance in the game and he just seemingly gave up.
