Mine came during the heath shuler era...seeing as how I was born in 1983, I didn't fully grasp the complexity of football til I was about 10 years old. I played peewee football but never truly watched or learned the game. I remember watching during the Andy Kelly days but didn't get REALLY into it until Heath Shuler took over. VFL FOR 18 years now!

That brings me to another question...who has vol ink somewhere on their body?

surprisingly, mine came during a loss. I have ALWAYS been a die hard vols fan, but as for that one moment, it came during the 2006 season. It was when we were 7 and 1 and ranked number 7 and we were leading LSU, only to have Russel snatch it away at the very end. For some reason that was the "it" moment that cemented in my mind that i would be a vol fan forever.

I went "all in" the first time I took part in opening the T as a member of the Pride. No matter how loud I played, I couldn't hear myself at all. That much energy in one place can change a person.

Probably in the drop/add line at the UC my freshman year. I'd been in line for an hour and unfortunately had to go to the bathroom, and when I got back they'd let a whole bunch of people in and the girl who was saving my spot was already in and I had to go to the back of the line and start all over. I realized right then I was never, ever going to get out.

Honestly, I didnt realize how much I loved the Vols till I was faced with becoming a Gamecock.

South Carolina recruited me harder then any other school coming out of high school and I took about 6 visits to South Carolina.

This was during the Lou Holtz era. I had a sick to my stomach feeling that I would end up at South Carolina and would have no choice but to not be a UT fan and it gave me a feeling that I was sick to my stomach. I think this was when I realized just how much I loved the Vols. While they were not recruiting me very hard, the best recruiting expereinece was coming to Tennessee as a recruit for the Orange and White game and the great experience of touring all the facilities ect.

Long story short, South Carolina along with most other bigger schools dropped off when they heard about a potentially bad knee injury in my final game.

While only a torn MCL, they cant do anything but ask about injuries at that point in the game.

Instead of walking onat a major school I ended up in Div 1aa, but through that whole experience I think I realized just how much I loved the Vols.

I loved TN when I was younger, but I knew I wanted to be the Drum Major of the Pride when I saw Fuller Lyon strut during the National Championship season. From there I got into a HS that had a band program, learned an instrument, got into UT, and put in 4 great years. Sadly I never got to don the DM uni, but I wouldn't give up those years for anything.

I too was born in 83. I enjoyed the games my dad took me to: however, I used to just think it was like a state team vs. another state Tenn vs. Florida and such. I never really knew it was a university until the early 90's. I was really into UT winning.... I was interested but wasn't really sure what was going on till I started to play. I was also a lot more into UT games when they won cuz my dad was more desirable in those outcomes. The game where I knew I was a VFL came in the 96 citrus bowl. I had heard all week how we were going to lose the game, and to watch it come out a vol victory really had an impression on me. Since then I go to, watch, or listen to every game.

Parents are UT alumni. Grandparents are natives and lifelong residents of Tennessee. I always loved the campus and surrounding area, in addition to the athletic programs.

Unfortunately I was offered a lot of money to attend WVU, and made the tough decision not to go to UT for financial reasons. Always wore Tennessee stuff around the WVU campus and was rarely alone, daily seeing a few others the did the same. When I wore my orange, I would almost daily get a 'Go Vols!' from someone walking by. I plan to enroll in a graduate program at UT in the Fall '12.

I'm not sure how much stuff will transfer, but the upper division Couch Burning will certainly be accepted.

It wasn't until I moved to California in 1998. Being surrounded by Vols football in TN ( really started watching during the Heath Shuler era) made me take it for granted I guess. Winning season after winning season during the 90s was something that I become too use to and took for granted. But once I left home, I quickly realized that nothing is more beautiful that Tennessee Orange and how much a part of me Tennessee is.

God, I love the Vols.

I grew up watching games with my grandfather while my mother was at work. I've never known anything else. Thank God he got to me before my Vanderbilt fan uncle did...

When I attended a HC game vs Memphis State and saw Johnnie Jones run all over the Tigers in the ran drinking rum and coke under an umbrella with a cute gal I just got introduced to by my highschool friend. I decided that day I would attend UT. I started the following fall.

88 season after we started 0-6. Pulled harder each week and we just kept losing. That is also when I knew I hated Notre Dame. V,B!

Same moment for me... That was actually my first Tennessee game
