Yep. With Brazzle out for the bowl game, Jackson and Smith are the 2 guys set to get those snaps outside from all I have heard. No mention of anyone else. Bowl games are "free" and don't count against the 4game max for redshirts IIRC.

I am surprised we havent heard anything from Dodson in the Slot this year? He is very quick and shifty like Staley. Do you know what's going on at Slot WR and whats up with Dodson? Wasn't he unable to be an EE last year...maybe that's holding him back? From what I gather there are only 2guys in this entire 2026 class who are NOT here already as EE...

Edit: i think most VOL fans are under rating Tyreek King because we landed Keys. King is VERY good and will likely be a good starter in time when Staley/Matthews leave if not sooner as a backup. King torched some of the best DBs in the nation at camps this year. The director of ON3 called him a "TD waiting to happen" at camps and said he was obviously the best WR there. Keys/King are gonna be deadly

Dodson got dinged up during preseason practice and got behind. Redshirted. Could play in bowl since it don’t count toward redshirting

I’m not sure on the EE.

I doubt Jefferson ever plays here. I'm not sure what his injury was, or the severity of it. I just notice he is never mentioned - not by reporters, players, coaches etc. Whenever the receiver position is brought up, the starters are mentioned along with Jackson, Smith, and even Dodson despite not playing yet. But I can't recall the last time anyone has mentioned Jefferson.

I hope I'm wrong, obviously, because he was a stud in college. Plus, he has an awesome wide receiver name. Amari Jefferson just screams Pro Bowler. Its science.

Well he had two all Americans and Mike Matthews ahead of him. Maybe he just isn’t as good as them. I still have some hope for him tho as he’s a Chattanooga kid

Thanks LV I thought this was the case. Dodson if healthy can make a difference next year as a backup Slot WR to Staley. I know he wasn't rated as highly out of HS as some of our other WRs...he might actually be the lowest rated WR we have from HS...but he is super quick and has very long arms too IIRC. His film was really good from HS. Pulling for him. Keys and King probably both go outside right? So Dodson with the redshirt effectively comes into their 2026 class as the Slot WR....same thing Staley did this year after redshirting last season.
