It's been a while. I have been in the process of transitioning to a new job and haven't been able to post for sometime. I just wanted to drop in and see how things are going for you guys?

Any news this offseason, recruits getting on campus, etc.

Board is about to go into meltdown, because there is a rumor about Scroggins committing to USC.

Other than that, I think we're all pretty good... lol

Things are coming along nicely. How are things with UGA? You guys have some shoes to fill... finding any feet to fill them?

We are trying to fill them but we can speculate all day long and we really want know a thing until gameday. My honest opinion is that we will be fine. Should be like the David Green years. Decent smart QB (lacks arm strength) and we will have a running back by commitee.

VolDad I completely agree with you. But to be the best you have to beat the best. Atleast that is what I am telling myself.

You might find this interesting:

"From riches to rags?

Forget about last year. For this group of previously successful teams, the 2009 season could bring drastically different results. These former contenders might even be getting bowl dates before New Year's Day — or Christmas. Think that's too dire a prediction for teams we've crowned champs? Better to prepare yourself now, then, as this year will be undoubtedly shaky for these 10 teams. Fans will have some Cinderella-level disappointment coming to them when the clock strikes 12 and their team's carriage to victory turns into a pumpkin. — Lisa Horne"

10 - Utah
9 - USC
8 - Penn State
7 - Maryland
6 - Alabama
5 - Florida State
4 - Texas Tech
3 - Missouri
2 - Cincinnati
1 - Georgia

Bleak '09 for these 10 college football teams

Nice to see you again, Fade. Looking forward to a visit to Athens in the near future.

Condolences on the Georgia Theater fire!

Hopefully the Nowhere Bar remains unscathed and as shady and comfortable as ever.

We should have a "volnation highlights" or "week in review" that links the most entertaining/informative threads...

But ya, the Scroggins Saga is pushing some to delusion. A scenario has formulated where this courting of Florida and now flirtation with USC is just an elaborate recruiting coup in the making, hatched by Kiffin, and Scroggins will pull a shocker and go with Tennessee before the summer is over.

Maybe, but... It's more likely he is just a kid making up his mind, and the situation is complete chaos. But chaos is frightening, when it can decide your program's short term future.

And a medicore defense. No offense to the Dawg fan, but Georgia is one of the most overrated teams heading into the season IMO. They will be much better next season.

No we were overated last year, I like being the underDawg this year.

This year we should be much improved especially on d. Our d is predicated on getting a pass rush from the front 4 and last year injuries took out the majority of our leadership and depth.

As for the offense I know that we lost Stafford and Knowshon but according to most of our rivals they where overrated anyway so why should they be that difficult to replace. The way I see it is that we will be a solid ball control offense that doesnt take too many risks. I think Joe Cox will be a David Greene type QB that will win games with his knowledge of the game and ability to make good decisions(though i loved him Stafford was know to make some bonehead decisions). The running back position will be by commitee (I think Caleb King and Carlton Thomas are going to suprise some people) as it has been in the past and should be just fine because of the oline strength.

Speaking of the lines they are going to be outstanding. We will have an Oline and Dline that is atleast 2 deep at every posistion. As we all know games are won in the trenches and I think we will have a shot in most games. The problem in our schedule is just brutal.

My guess is we could be 10-2 or 8-4. I just dont see Mark Richt losing more than 8, but hey I am biased.

I assume you mean you don't see him winning fewer than 8, and I agree with you. But it will be interesting this year. Tough test early with Okie State who will be good. You should rout ASU though.
