:dunno:What's the real reason he got thrown in the dog house. Sure he wasn't the greatest but I can think of several times this year his three's helped us out when Lofton was off. I believe he played in the majority of our post Tourney games. So why now? Somewhere down the line I feel something will leak out. He must of told Pearl off or something...didn't even get in the last game of his senior season. Even Pearl Jr. got a few seconds...Somebody fill me in.

In the mean time, I guess I'll get back to the verbal beating all my Memphis buddies are giving me :hmm:

I don't know why he didn't play. You would think Pearl would've put him in even if it was just for a couple of mins. Pearl shouldn't have even played.

4-40 shooting doesn't put much confidence in your coach when the real shooters on the team are having an off night. Would have liked to have seen him handling the ball though.

no offense but that's still a better percentage of 3 pt shooting than JP or Ramar. look Howell isn't the greatest but he isn't a walking turnover(JP). he's a senior who cares if Howell and Bruce got into it, it's his last game. very very disappointing on bruce, and bruce will realize eventually that he shoulda played him

There is no hidden scoop. He is very bad. Bruce squeezed 31 wins out of a team with some major holes. Savor it.

He didn't play because he isn't good.

Thats funny, we went 30-4 with him and 1-1 and played horrible without him, sometimes chemistry out weighs ability.

Reguardless, he helped make this the season it was and he was a senior, he should have played. Achange of pace may have been what we needed.

I am sure Jordan's parents will fill in somebody on the board...... until then all we can do is speculate.

Howell should have played. He deserved a couple minutes at least. Their is no excuse for playing his son.

Jordan has been a big part of this program over the last three years and to throw him under the bus and say you have to get your best players on the floor (JP) then turn around and play your own son (who everyone knows can't play at this level) should be embrassing to coach Pearl. It wasn't right and honestly made me think a little less of the guy.

With all the scorers on the team, Howell doesn't have to even shoot. I would have liked to have seen less turnovers in the tournament games. It seems that the Vols turned the ball over more as Howell played less.

Please, he scored 13 points in the past 14 games. No he didn't turn the ball over much, but you can't put a guy in the game who is 4 for his last 40.

Why?

Would it not be more humiliating to put him in the last few minutes of a blow out?

Ramar and Prince can make other things happen on the offensive end, and Howell can't. Bruce tried him several times over the last few games, but it was pretty clear that whatever problems he was having with his shot just weren't going to get worked out.

I don't know if there were any other issues or not, but it is pretty tough to play a guy in a must win situation who isn't even a threat to score with a team that has struggled with half-court offense of late.

I'm glad for Jordan's contributions over his career at UT, but you just can't put a 10% shooter on the floor.

More humiliating then not being able to play in his last game? Not to me it wouldn't be. Granted he hasn't done well this year but when you look at last night's game who did?

I'm glad someone finally stated the obvious. It was a total embarrassment to have Pearl's son in a NCAA game. He looked completely lost and had no business on the court. If you are a player who only enters most games in the last 2 minutes when your team is up by 20 then you should stay on the bench during the most important game of the season. Pearl should be ashamed of himself for this one.
