I've read all the posts after the Vandy game, but I don't remember seeing anything about why Maymon didn't play. He had seen several minutes a game since he became eligible, but nothing against Vandy. Does anyone know what the problem is with this guy?
steve pearl for some reason is getting all of maymons minutes...which is a complete joke...Maymon played 15-20 minutes against the blow out win over memphis and pearl played mop-up duty. since pearl has been suspended tony jones has took maymon out of lineup in place of steven pearl, which is a joke...maymon is very productive when giving minutes

Incorrect. Maymon makes more negative plays. Difference is that Pearl realizes what he can and cannot do and does a good job of playing his role. Maymon on the other hand continues to try to do things he cant do and does not understand his role. That is the reason the minutes have been that way. And its completely legit.
To the OP:
For six games Maymon did just what they asked of him. Very solid. Didn't take stupid shots. Had 7 turnovers in the 6 games. Decent rebounding (on a generally weak rebounding team). (He is indeed an atrocious free throw shooter.) He had a bad game against Arkansas, then saw his minutes cut to 5 against Florida and none against Vandy.
Everybody likes to talk about "intangibles" (and see "intangibles" for Pearl that aren't actually there), which are important, but not as important as "tangibles". For instance, scrapping is good, but actually grabbing the rebounds is better.
As an example, here's rebounds per 40 minutes:
Williams 15
Maymon 14
Harris 11
Fields 11
Hall 10
Pearl 4
