What's going on with Kongbo?

Looks like he moved to the 3 technique for the rest of the season. I think they are trying to find ways to get him on the field.

I wouldn't be surprised if he moves back to DE once the Dline gets healthy again, next season, unless he continues to gain weight.

I thought Butch said today that Kongo was doing great but needs to mature more. I took it as he needs to mature from technique stand point. Butch also went on to talk about being team player and each player having different growth trajectory etc. So it seemed like they are still trying to help Kongbo grow in position. I did not get much negative out of what butch said.

The "needs to be a team player" bothers me a little. What do YOU think?

The response to his signing was so typical VN. He was the next coming of Lawrence Taylor; he was going to wreak havoc every play of every game; he was unblockable and would make every tackle... the expectation was as unrealistic as the expectation for McKenzie when he signed.

We need to remember the jump to SEC football is a HUGE jump that is difficult for even the best of players. Let them mature, get acclimated to the size and speed of the game and they will be fine.

He came to football a little late in life. Also bounced around several schools/divisions. Now he finds himself playing at the top of the NCAA. Hang in there Kongbo, when the light comes on, you will be vey glad you came to Tennessee!

He balked at moving inside to help the team. He seams to be all about Kongbo and not so much about being a team player. Discouraging.

Caught the tail end of the radio show, but didn't Butch say he needs to buy into the system?

Lots of ways you can take that.

Oh, goody goody. We finally have someone who is real a locker room insider. I can't wait for more spot-on inside knowledge of what is going on with the Vols.

He seams, huh. I'm in a good mood since last night, please don't make me go weep for America again. Or "weap" in your world.

He only started playing football half way through his senior year of HS. But just because some sport writers declared him a 5*, that instantly gives him experience and technique, according to our recruiting experts.

Kongbo still has 2 years after this year. Lets not forget how much football experience the kid came in with...very little.

Kongbo apparently tweeted or posted something about ....what to do when an organization doesnt treat you fairly.

Not sure exactly what was said but I heard bits and pieces of Doug Mathews discussing it today on Nashville radio.

Thats why Kongbo was mentioned in press conference I assume.

He didnt make that up or pretend to be an insider. Its from an article on Bleacher Report FYI. Why all of the hostility and the need to act like a di.ck? Calm down there turbo.
