My guess would be 2012. Will take time for a new coach to get it going again...

I think the Vols will have good teams over the next 2-3 seasons...but it's gonna be a while before we can have a real shot at beating the Gators, Tide, Dogs, and Tigers.

Just a thought...

I say 2011(year after next in case I got the date wrong). Tebow and Harvin will be gone and hopefully florida gets duds to replace them, bama wont be as stong I dont think and it will give the new coach time to implement his system and get his players.

If we get the hire I think we will be getting then 2010. Stafford, Tebow, Harvin, and most likely Moreno will be gone.

In typical Tennessee fashion, the world is supposed to end in December of 2012, so I guess , depending on the date of the apocalypse, we'll probably never see another one...;)

In their second year at the school, the following coaches won national championships:

1. Jim Tressel
2. Bob Stoops
3. Urban Meyer

With the right coach at UT, the same thing can happen.

Ummm...we have talent, but I don't know if we have that much talent. We are pretty thin on both lines.

It's sad that we base our chances on other teams losing players. It just shows the current state of our program.

At this time I do not wish to make a prediction...I would be satisfied if the new coach gets us to a bowl, then go from there.

In case you have not noticed....the gators are stacked with talent chomping at the bit to get on the field. Saban will always have a strong defense and he will have a strong offense in 2 years especially after the gators crush their championship hopes in SECC game. Our best hope would be we get a coach who can recruit top talent and develop them. I am thinking 4 to 6 yrs before we could get our problems resolved with some of the canditates I read for hire.

I just hope I live long enough to see it. I think this is the most important hire Tennessee Football has ever made and they need to get it right. I am tired of being the SEC doormat. In the last few years we are always picked no better than third in the SEC East and we always make them look like prophets. GET IT RIGHT HAMILTON PUT OUT SOME MONEY!
