My granddaughter who will be 8 in May always gets me anything orange,or Vols when she sees it cause she knows I love Them. She always tells her parents I gotta get this for MIMI.

Well they went to FL for spring break, and she had to buy me something for me,but alas what she bought is the problem.

She bought a gator claw keychain.

If I dont put it on my keys It will make her feel bad,but if I do ill feel as if im letting my Vols down.

What would you do?

put the dang thing on your chain. Cross it out or something. Your grand-daughter is way more important!

Have a Grandma/Grand-daughter crafts painting day with her.... Teach her how to paint. O and you have the perfect piece to practice with. Thus the keychain

Teach your granddaughter a LIFE LESSON on this one. She is only 8 years old. Its time to teach her the difference between Good and Evil. Thank her for the kind gesture, and then teach her what it means to be a Vol fan (Good), and a gator fan (Evil).

Problem Solved

Accidentally throw it in the trash and tell her it fell off your keychain. Her parents should have known better than to buy that....

Put it on your spare keys. It has a purpose, she likes it on there, and it gives you incentive to never forget your keys.

Cute story....if it's just a Gator claw without any actual UF markings then no biggie...family first!

If it's just a state of Florida gator claw keyring and has nothing to do with the University of Florida, you put your keys on it, add a Tennessee keyring or such to it and if anyone asks you about it, you just tell them it's what Tennessee fans do to gators when we catch them.

I keep it as is, to hell with what people say.

This. Not to confusing.

She is 8, she should have known better.....have a stern talk with her about her loyalty, let her know she will be thought of as a NegaVol on these forums thanks to our many trolls, and then create a fun play-date with her to show her how to use a hammer....:)

Or alternatively, create a username and password for her and let her post her picture in this thread....the said Trolls above will let her know, regardless of age, how much they hate her...

Nice story, I have 3 kids of my own and have worn shirts, necklaces, bracelets, etc. from every place we ever vacationed or lived. This would include other SEC merchandise...

Tell her she is adopted and get rid of the key chain.

Just use the keychain and tell everybody it's all that will be left of them when we're done with them this year.

Edit: Dang! Should have read more of the thread and saved myself some keystrokes.

Give her the key chain to use for herself. If she doesn't have any keys to put on it. pick her up a couple of skelton keys. Most kids love goofing around with them.
