Obviously there are alot of good coaches out there, but it seems that different personalities and philosophies work according to the institution and fan base you work with. After fulmer's departure we went for a young arrogant kiffin to try and re-energize, after that falling out we went back to a conservative southerner in dooley.

As far as basketball after green we went to a "good guy" in buzz peterson to a energetic and charismatic hire in pearl. What type of personality fits best on the sidelines of thompson bowling? Some may think this doesn't matter but I think it defanitely plays in to the search not all good coaches are good fits here or anywhere for that matter.

1) Guy who has not had trouble with the NCAA

2) A proven winner, someone who has led their team to multiple NCAA tourney's and conference titles (regular).

3) Someone who has a good plan for recruiting, and recruits to his style.

4) A coach who can rally the fanbase, and keep the excitement going.

5) A coach who can take to the next level of conference titles and Final Fours.

It's like tater chips. Everybody likes something different but as long as your full when the bag is empty, that's all that matters :p

Basically, a proven winner! I don't want to take a chance on a guy that doesn't have a decent track record. Recruitment ties to some degree would help. Anybody that has a good connection with powerhouse AAU teams or the NBA would be pretty nice. I'd love for someone that has the same type of energy as Bruce Pearl but I'm willing to bet he's in a league of his own with this one. Someone that values defense and doesn't run a boring offense (but if it works, I could care less how boring it is as long as we get the W). Shew....I'm like a greedy kid on Christmas.
