What would a TRUE VOL fan do?

I take it a step further and wait till the game is over before cueing it up. I also make sure to check the score.

If the final is Bama 42 - UT 7, I will blast through it to avoid wasting 3hrs of my life. If, however, the gods favor us that day and UT wins with a last second field goal, I can calmly watch JG toss 2 pick 6's in the 1st half knowing even he can't lose this one!

It has made watching bad UT football a bit less painful and free's up my saturday's for more pleasurable things like weed-eating my 1/2 mile long driveway.....

I'm too amped-up to wait until after the game is over and I have a hard time waiting as long as I do. I don't blame you, though. We've all had to endure a lot of misery over the past few years. It's always easier to just rip the band-aid off quickly.

A TRUE fan watches (or listens) to every single play whether winning or losing.

That then earns you the right for when things do turn around to tell all the fair weather fans where they can go (and to also superkick them there).

For most of my life I listened on radio and then watched on TV much as you described. Felt it was my duty to listen/watch every play regardless of score or situation. Guess I must’ve turned in my true fan card. I couldn’t watch the 4th quarter of the Kentucky game.

I’ll be watching again this Saturday. Hopefully the whole game.

I plan to celebrate our win by taking a long leisurely ride on Pat, my unicorn.

I'm surprised this ^^^post passed the Moderator's "Sensors for Appropriateness"...

Watch, expect a win. Then when it starts going wrong, keep getting hammered drunk. After game, call into Vol calls and demand Pruitt be fired.
LULZ!

I'm shocked the Vol Network doesn't have Roger on retainer to filibuster after a bad loss...."Sorry, we're out of time on the post game call-in show/Vol Calls."

I'd spend the game contemplating why I have been married for 35 years, be overcome with regret, then drink till I black out.

According to the ops original scenario..

I lived through the 70’s, the Battle years, the early Major seasons and I have never felt this hopeless about my beloved Vols.
But the plus side is I don’t get upset anymore, I just expect us to suck and if we can sometimes finish third in the East, that’s been a great year.
Between the Vols and Lions we just have
to tough it out. Take every good game 🤣
as a ray of sunshine 🌞. Still wouldn't put
Pruitt in the same category as Patricia.
Aside from playing JG that's the only fault
I find with him.

Here's a question to ponder. Say you really like the VOLS because you actually got a degree there and met your wife of nearly 35 years there back in the day, so how should you approach this upcoming game with Bama?

Watch and hope for the best?
Turn to another game?
Watch something else on Lifetime?
Clean up the house?
Cheer on the VOLS as if they can actually hear you miles away?
Go to Neyland to try and suit up to help them?

Hard times as a UT fan with this product being put on the field. Another low last week. Funny thing is many fans have seen the train coming down the tracks with no breaks for a while. I just question these guys long term viability seeing the decisions and product so far. Even punting and field goal kicking has been below average.

Go squirrel hunting and listen to John Ward.

Ah yes! Even when we lost the game, John Ward made it entertaining. What John Ward had was the Perfect Voice, (tone, Inflection, presence, warmth) and the Ability to somehow soothe the Spirit after a loss. Too bad John Ward couldn't have broadcasted forever. We will never see the likes of him again.

As much as I say I’m gonna skip it, I’ll watch the game expecting to get curb stomped. Once we get behind by a few scores I’ll turn it off and go do yard work while still checking the score on my phone occasionally like a madman expecting something good to happen.
