In your opinion, how much might the offense improve this week during practice having a more capable QB on the field with them?

Stephens has only been taking number 1 snaps for a couple weeks, so QB play will be better, but he's limited. UT has to control the LOS for a "chance" to compete. This really needs to be a replay of the 2004 game.

Agreed. We also have to make catches and hang onto the ball. This team has had sorry hands thus far.

Hopefully, we will get a more confident Stephens each week as he gets more reps in practice and playing time in games. I have been impressed with his leadership thus far, so it seems like he will continue to get better. Hopefully it will carry over to the rest of the team and mistakes are eliminated. I look for Stephens to continue to lead and get this offense ignited, UT is going to need a solid running game to balance the attack if anything productive is going to show up on the field Saturday.

They've likely improved enough this week to limit our blowout loss to Georgia this Saturday to only 35 points.

need a big game from the OL and RB's to win this one.

Defensively I think we will be right where we need to be.

Offensively i think we will lose before the coin toss.

im hoping to see improvement from the oline. hopefully they can run block and open up some holes for our backs. stephens looks like he can manage a game and hit them deep a couple times. would like to see him eliminate the 3 or 4 throws that he forced last week. would also like him to see the field better. he threw a couple balls last week where he completely didnt see the defender underneath and almost got picked off. but this game will be decided on the line of scrimmage.

I think that the greatest thing that the offense can gain in a week, is real unity from seeing THEIR QB showing good leadership skills, a quiet confidence in his own abilities, and a "we're in this together" attitude when directing his team mates down the field. I don't know that the offensive players ever felt that JC was "one of them"....:dunno:

by all acounts, the team really likes crompton. he just did not get it done in the games. he has plenty of leadership qualities. his play has been terrible but hes made plays. the third and long against auburn showed me toughness and leadership. crompton gave it his best, if stephens cant hold onto the job, i would like to see crompton get another shot and see if he has learned anything.

Maybe by some...or, maybe by a lot....but, not by ALL. :eek:k:

I guess I was hoping we'd see a more confident offense overall (leading to better execution) this coming game?

imo, it boils down to the offense not having faith in crompton from the get go.If they come together then the sparks that have shown on our offensive side of the ball will turn into a fire and burn the rest of the season. The only question is will they come together against GA......I really hope so.

I am assuming the answer is yes but is Nick getting 100% of the snaps with the 1st team this week in practice?
