What was the official reason Creer left the team?

I think Mike Leach learned his lesson last year and knows what he needs is a decent back to get over the edge.

Texas Tech had one of the best seasons in school history last year, and it's Mike Leach. Come on you know he's not going to call running plays much at all. His idea of a running play is a screen pass.

After seeing Williams at the O&W game I now understand why he left. With 3 great rb already at UT he would never make the field plus Oku and Brown coming in, he was finished.

I don't blame Creer for leaving. He clearly either felt like he was the best RB on the team and wasn't getting the shot he thought he deserved, or he realized that he was getting passed up and wanted to make a name for himself somewhere else. Either way, i'm glad he made the right decision.

I can definately see him at Wake, NC State, or even down here at USF and doing well. He basically got squeezed out at UT. It happpens,, I think the current Florida running back transferred from USC.

He just got caught up in the system. He did not do enough to stand out for the first 2 years behind A. Foster and M. Hardesty now here comes two or three more studs. I can see why he left. Maybe he'll go to a smaller school so he won't have to sit out a year.

Well said.

On a sidebar, it's kind of sad these guys have to wait a year after they transfer before they can play.

I wonder how many more would transfer in college football if they didn't lose a year of elgibility. Seems a little unfair for athletes who aren't paid to play. You would think the NCAA might give them a little more flexiblity. But I digress.

I am sure it is to discourage student athletes from transferring. I bet the NCAA don't want players transferring much.

Texas didn't recruit him out of high school. Not sure they'd want him after he spent three years and was never able to get beyond 3rd on the depth chart.

I thought they offered him early (in recent tejas fashion) and when he wouldn't commit cooled... until close to signing day... but we got him anyway.

They could actually really use him... RB is most definitely not a strength for the 'horns right now.

The real reason he left is because Kiffin didn't honor Fulmer's promise to let him take showers in the locker room with his swimming trunks on. He was apparently embarrassed to take them off.
