What was the first Vols Football game you attended

2000 vs FL. I turned 21 that year. It was a long time ago so I don't really remember much about it but I'll never forget it for a few reasons.

The only thing I remember about being there was how it was so loud I couldn't even hear myself yelling. It was the 1st and only game I've ever been to... My aunt's husband at the time let us use his tickets so I could go with my dad, who went there and was a huge fan (and is why I am a fan), but he was too sick to make it. He had pancreatic cancer and died that December.

That's part of why I've lived in GA since 1994 and have never become a GA fan. Even though I don't remember much about it (and that we lost the game), it was one of the best experiences of my life and one I'll never forget.

Tennessee vs Lousiana Tech. Up in MM with free tickets. Snooze feast. I was pretty young and remember believing we won 90-0 for some reason.

It was the first time they let me in to sell Cold Drinks after I’d been selling the KNS “line-UPS!” outside the stadium for a few games. Must have been 1967. But I don’t remember who we played.

2004 vs Notre Dame. Sat in the upper deck end zone and Ainge got hurt on the other end of the field right before halftime. I remember being a little concerned that the Vols might only get 8-9 wins with Ainge out.

1998 versus the Gators. Goal posts came down right in front of us. Remember how broadcasters in later game were bitching about trashy fans destroying a $100K camera.

I believe it was 1975 vs Colorado St
Sat in WW
That was my first game as well, a 28-7 win. My Pop Warner coach took our team. Neyland Stadium was still a horseshoe and we sat in the North end zone seats. I think the Vols had been upset by North Texas the weekend before and the natives were a bit restless.

The 84 or 85 GA tech game. We tied. I didn't understand why we weren't kicking field goals from the 50 yard line because it looks so close compared to watching it on tv.

1993 vs. Louisville. I was 6.

I've probably posted about this before. I don't remember much about the game at all, but I'd bet my house that @Marquis bought us a sack of Krystals on the strip to take into the game. That's what we always did when I was little.

UCLA in Knoxville 1985. VOLS led 26-10 in the 4th and ended up in a 26-26 tie.

Side note: the 2nd game I attended was vs Ga Tech later in 1985. I believe it was the first game Daryl Dickey started after Tony Robinson was injured. This time we kicked a FG at the end to finish in a 6-6 tie.

So my first two games were the two ties in our 9-1-2 Sugar Bowl winning season.
