What Vol football legend would you bring back?

Exactly. This is a no-brainer. I didn't have to think or analyze anything. The answer is Peyton. It's always Peyton.

He is regarded as one of the best to ever play at the most important position on the field. He is the best of the best. Why would you not want to take the best of the best?

Sure, he doesn't have the wheels like Dobbs to run a spread, but I am confident if Butch could hypothetically have Peyton Manning play QB that he could develop a competent offensive gameplan to backup the best there ever was. Our receivers are not terrible, they are quite talented. They just need someone who can throw the ball their way.

It's not Peyton's lack of wheels that would lead me to rather take a defensive game changer. It's our OL. Without Dobbs' mobility last year, they probably would've given up a lot more sacks.

hm. my first reaction before reading the article was Reggie White. my reaction after reading the article...Reggie White.

while it's obvious we need WR, QB and passing game in general to step up.....there's something to the old adage...make your strength stronger.

put #92 on the DT rotation with the DE's and LB's....

dude. we could probably win games only scoring 17 points a game.

Same

If you want to go with an OL....Fred Weary or Cosey Coleman would be my choices.....

Those are good choices also, I was just thinking about offensive tackles. So many great o-linemen from the 80's thru the early 2000's.

Defense: Leonard Little OLB, Eric Westmoreland, Eric Berry

Offense: Peyton, Heath Shuler, Casey Clausen

as long as it's senior year Jeff Hall.

Medley bested him statistically in both Fr and Soph years...and it aint even close.

Jeff Hall
Fr 47/49 XP // 16/25 FG (64%)
So 47/49 XP // 10/18 FG (55.6%)

Aaron Medley
Fr 42/43 XP // 20/26 FG (76.9)
So 55/55 XP // 21/31 FG (67.7%)

Let's see how he does his Jr and Sr years.

I think Lincoln did too - then he went south his Jr and Sr years --

Atkins, Wilson, Little, Berry, White, Henderson, Haynesworth, Fair, McDaniel, Priest.

Patterson, Shuler, Manning, Antone Davis, Charles McRae, Tiny Richardson, Robinson.

Those would be my top picks. Narrowing down to one is the hard part lol

Give me a D line of Atkinson, Henderson, Haynesworth and Reggie White.
LBs: Raynoch Thompson, Al Wilson, Burnett
DBs: Dale Carter, Deon Grant, Eric Berry, Cam Sutton

Would not even care who was on offense...might not even need one :)
