Well I’ll be honest….I was in the keep JA camp but a decision has been made so it is what it is. What type of QB is GMac?

Throughout his recruiting it was noted that he was a very talented basketball player and an athletic QB. I also recall seeing his HS mixtape and he was very mobile. Understandably we can only take so much from HS film bc the SEC is a different animal.

Despite the weight gain issues what type of QB is GMac? Good deep ball? Mobility? Durability? Accuracy? Smart decision maker?

Whether it’s GMac or Brandon let’s ride!!!!! 12-0 and a natty next year!

Yeah I said it and I ain’t skkkeeeeeerrrrrddddddd!!!!!

Hype not giving GMac those reps last season may come back to bite him in the ass. Running Merk on the field made no sense and now we have a QB with no experience.
Ryan Staub from CO has some game experience, even a couple of starts at CO, so more P4 experience than Joey when he got to Knoxville.

It's going to be an interesting Spring camp and the Fingers videos will be analyzed with FBI level attention on Volnation.

My money is on G-Mac but Staub could be a sleeper. I think Faizon will need time because the SEC ain't high school.

If Staub starts we're in trouble

Well, he's currently the only QB on the roster with any serious P4 experience, as I said, which is more P4 experience than Joey A had when he started.

I'd not bet on him starting but after Nico left and Joey came, several thought Merk would easily be QB1.

The dice are in the cup as far as I'm concerned and waiting to be rolled for who is QB1.

3 or 4 reporters with access will talk about how good Mac looked in the early part of practice with routes on air. Occasionally a reporter will contradict the others and mention that he struggled early.

Meaningless drivel that I look forward to reading every word of.

We gonna be in trouble regardless. We have a couple of QB’s with no real experience. Gonna find out real quick if the coaches can get them where they need to be. Let’s Gooooo
I think we’ll be ok as long as our D is re-fortified, and the focus is on ball security and running game. Gmac seems very accurate. We have great WRs. Just don’t need to do too much with him, as that’s where you get in trouble.

If Staub gets the start we need to put Gmac and Fazion in the portal and start over

I think CJH needs to re-evalaute his approach to QB playing time. Given that any player can leave at any time, now more than ever you're susceptible to your starter leaving (even with remaining eligibility), leaving you with no experience at the QB position. I'm not saying you need to run a two-QB system, but you need to get the non-starting QB you see as having the most potential to start next year as much playing time as possible. GM could have gotten considerably more playing time last year without costing TN games, while his inexperience is likely to cost TN games next year.

What CJH has shown since he’s been here is that it really doesn’t matter who the QB is. His system is basically plug and play. He’s shown any QB can be successful in it. Look at all of the rejects who in turn have looked like ballers. Sent two of them into the league who were not even starters at their former home.

And if he’d been hit like JA was being hit as Heup would also have to take away any qb runs, a chance we go into spring practice with a backup from Colorado starting.
There was no need for late reps in games, especially backup OL and WRs. Last year was for GM to try to gain weight and develop footwork while learning the playbook.

We won in 24 basically running the ball cause Nico wasn't that great of a passer against the good teams. Maybe that formula can work early in the season until the QB gets settled in. Play ball control and with a hopefully much improved D don't see why that wouldn't' work.

Just don't see the total armageddon disaster some of you do.

Am I to understand Gmacs perceived weight issue wouldn't have been an issue last season but is now?? I mean tons of VNs athletic trainers have assured me he was too skinny to be in an SEC game, now they say he should have got plenty of playing time. I'm confused.
