What Type of Offense?

Run on first down, run on second down and only throw on third and long just like Butch did every dang time. 😑🔫

There's going to be some shotgun, some pistol, some under center. Plenty of two, three, four, and five wide sets, two and possibly three TE, two back sets. Ground and pound, air it out. Wishbone, flexbone. Run heavy, pass heavy, high-octane offense. Should be fun to watch.
How do you know that?

First steps will be to teach our Qb how to be a Qb, then teach our O line how to block scheme correctly. Then they will think about what to run lol. Lot of teaching gonna need to be done. The zone blocking that Butch ran, plus the horrible Qb coaching has really set these kids behind. Oh ya and the wr’s route running haha where to begin ....

Petrino and Brohm are both pro style offenses. Both have some layered misdirection to leverage the defense into compromising situations. Brohm has had more up tempo from what I've seen, and generally is in 11 personnel, one te, one rb sets. I think USC has been more multiple and diverse BC they have the personnel to be. Same effect is accomplished as spread by getting mismatches in space but it's still a pro style offense.

You have to win the battle upfront. That’s my main point of concern.

I like a pro style offense that runs various spread schemes occasionally.

Probably run across QB face... that’s the only play that works, right?

I went did a light study if the USC offense and a quick peak of the WKU offense the picture is of the patterns of the USC offense.... This is the offense he will bring with him... Doubt there will be much carry over from the WKU except their screen game....
This offense is a lot more physical then I think people realize... And I think it will be an easier transition from the guys we have then I originally thought....
He runs a lot of overload formations and is eager to get the ball outside in the pass game but is less worried abut getting the corner in the run game and seems to run a zone and gap scheme run game... It seems to me that it translates a lot to the ATL offense of last season except without the talent... There is a lot of run and replace WR concepts

I think it will fit nicely in the SEC because it is versital enough to do either run spread or run more of a pro style formation....
However, keep in mind that when Phil wanted a coach one if his requirements is to have a FB package in his offense... And I fully expect that to be a focal point but more of a sub package...

Also: this was just in the first Qtr so as to see what the plan he had was.... They usually will map out anywhere from 10-25 plays to run at first

Hope it will be an offense that worries not so much what the defense will do. Let them worry what our guys will do.
