If you could have any SEC HC at your school, in order, and why?

My List:

1) Mark Richt - Good record, longevity, really good guy. I'd want my son to play for him. I know you are going to call me a homer but he really is all that I've described.
2) Urban Meyer - Still young and competitive. Innovative and determined to win.
3) Bobby Johnson - Cause he's in second place at a private school in the SEC with no freakin' athletic dept.
4) Les Miles - Scrappy. Has seen how to win and likes the taste of it. Probably should be #3 but I like Johnson.
5) Nick Saban - He'd be lower but he works hard. He won't be at Bama for a long time though. (Remember the criteria for this list)
6) Houston Nutt - I like this guy. Not the greatest coach in the world but loyal, kinda like Old Yeller (they may have to shoot him one day) Certainly good enough for Ole' Miss. Eat your heart out Arkansas!
7) Steve Spurrier - Old ball coach likes golf better than X's and O's these days. At his prime he would, of course, be at the top of this list.
8) Sylvester Croom - See Less Miles.
9) Rich Brooks - This guy knows D. But is on in years and doesn't have the fire he once did. Still has more than most though!
10) Bobby Petrino - Who would hire this guy!!!
11) Tommy Tubberville - Duh! Who taught him to smile?!?!
12) Phil Fulmer - Game has passed him by. May have to put him down. (see Houston Nutt)

I'm sorry but this list makes me lol...

You would take Croom over Brooks? Bobby Johnson and Les Miles over Saban? Petrino over Fulmer? 6-10 over Tuberville?

I am not trying to be rude but I think we must watch different SEC schedule on Saturdays.

i would take SABAN because he has killer instinct. PERIOD.

That's what it takes in this league. Running to setup the punt is an old philosophy.

I would take Saban too. He is good enough to take the team Phil has right now and beat his own Alabama team on Saturday.

If you would rather have Bobby Johnson than Nick Saban, I sincerely hope Damon Evans consults you the next time UGA has to hire a football or basketball coach.

I dunno, I would still play for the ole ball coach...He may not have all the guns firing but you could learn a lot from him

Like to learn not to leave the talent rich state of Florida or suffer mediocrity the rest of your life?

I bought into his being a great coach in the 90s but when I look back now, I have to squint really hard to see greatness.

Worst ranking of SEC coaches I have seen on here. Your number 5 coach spanked your number 1 coach just a few weeks ago. Your number 12 did the same to your number 1 the 2 years prior to this year.

Bobby Johnson over Nick Saban is one of the funniest things I've ever seen on here.

Its a little odd but I think I understand. Saban is doing a good job but alabama always has talent. Vandy doesnt have nearly the talent yet johnson is still winning games. The same reason why people on here like mendenhall , butch davis etc.. for the next coach at UT. Those coaches are doing a good job with less talent.

Bama didn't have a single player drafted last year. No, I think Saban is better than Bobby Johnson.

Yeah but he won a lot of SEC titles in the 90's

Saban

I want to go back to punching teams in the mouth!

I will agree with you 100% there, Saban does indeed make some good strong physical teams...I kind of miss seeing teams like that anymore...Kinda like the old Nebraska teams, Knock your ass in the dirt and step on you kind of tough.

Fulmer did pretty well in the 90s too. Want to keep him?

He didn't do that good really...two sec titles and a NC and a lot of citrus bowl appearances...Spurrier won 5 SEC titles and a NC and had a shot at two before getting run over by Nebraska lol

saban recruits well I will give him that. Last year bama was 6-6 and I think they lost to Louisianna Monroe. This year is completly different.
