False statement.
It’s actually factually not. Good try though. Who have we handled with a pulse in 26? Didn’t happen in 25 either. That takes you back to at least 24 which is 2 years. I’ll let you look to see if it even happened then. Years being plural as I originally said. You’re welcome.

Agreed
We lost to every good team we played last year. UT missed a huge opportunity to gain some momentum against UGA but came up short. There are still plenty of chances this season though.

Let’s hope for this weekend. To early to tell what Auburn is yet but we certainly can’t afford to lose that one.

We have played 4 games in 26, only played 1 team with a pulse, Texas. You can't make a trend line with one data point, can you? And ask Big Texas if Florida had a pulse last year. We beat the living crap out of them, but Texas didn't. And we did have other SEC games, where we did handle our business and get the wins. But, I guess if we won then, they must not "have had a pulse" as that would go against your narrative. So, what's your prediction for Auburn game this week? 🤔

Since their on campus library burned down in 1996, they've not had much assistance and AOL down there is a slow on dial up.
I was by there recently and they haven't cleaned up from that yet. Grass is growing up around the frame and the axles of it. Kinda sad.

So either you can’t count, or are just posting on emotion. I’ll let you decide. My post was based on facts. And are you really trying to involve Florida in this conversation somehow? A team that won 4 games last year, but has already won their first four this year? Yet you’re comparing those teams like they compare somehow? Bless your heart.

So the word used was “handled” opponents with a pulse. We’ve not done it in 26, damn sure didn’t in 25. We didn’t beat a team with a winning record in 2025 so yes those opponents didn’t have a pulse. So there are much more datapoints in the last two years that point to my statement being true. You may not like it, doesn’t mean it’s not true. You’re just making claims on pure emotion. You’re just another fan thumping your chest over 7-8 wins a year that we SHOULD win easily, but fine with losing the rest.

The Auburn game? That hinges on our Oline. If we give up another 8-10 sacks we lose. If we somewhat protect our QB we’re capable of winning by 7-10.

"Tennessee seems to be getting a lot of credit for playing Texas close on Saturday. In reality, the game wasn't nearly as close as the score indicated.

Tennessee's Offense finished the game with just 221 total yards and averaged 2.91 yards/play. A huge chunk of those yards came in the final 3 minutes when Texas' defense went soft. Until the final two possessions, Tennessee's offense had managed just 3 points (there was a special teams TD). They had just 136 total yards with an average of just 2.19 yards per play.

Outside of Texas, they've played no one with a pulse. Their three other opponents (Furman, Georgia Tech, and Kennesaw St) are a combined 0-7 against FBS opponents.

Auburn meanwhile is getting zero credit for our resume... Yes, the game against Florida was not as close as the final score indicated, but the Gators are looking like a very real Top 10 team. Baylor and Vandy are both 3-1 and each have a win over another Power 4 team.

I think we go into Knoxville and surprise everyone with a win"

They should be... Because all of our issues are correctable. That's again for the umpteenth time.... A true freshman qb. Sometimes it takes a good punch in the face to trigger the next evolution. The defense being that solid 4 games into the first year should give you more than enough to be impressed by. The offense will develop.

I agree, teams and players are allowed to get better. I know, crazy concept. On the other hand, actually getting better is up to the player and staff.

-Knowles has that Vols front seven playing lights out right now. They kept Tennessee in the game against Texas even when Heupel's offense couldn't move the ball. If our offensive line can't handle the stunts and blitzes Knowles throws at us, Byrum Brown is going to be running for his life all afternoon.

Just have to give credit where its due. Coach Garner has the D-line playing well, and I guess Knowles has the LB's definitly better than last year. Carter looked like a different player on Saturday.

There is no excuse for Tennessee to lose this game.
Tons of injuries. Freshman QB who's learning on the fly. Our OL is a mess and we can't run the ball against solid SEC defenses....at least so far. Elander is still our OL coach and Heupel is still wearing 2 coaching hats. All the pressure is on UT in this one. Auburn has talent and will give us all we can handle and then some.

Those just came to mind.

We were lucky to score over 3 pts vs Texas. One was a punt return one was vs prevent defense. Dunno

Really bad feeling about this game that we won’t be able to protect the QB. I don’t think we have any chance in the Bama or LSU games any longer but now even games like Auburn are in the air imo.

That's where I am too. I can't remember the last time we've had this many significant injuries this early.

Never have hated Barn. Like most UT fans I know, we never play them much in football like back when I was a kid...not much to hate. Plus we pull for them to beat Bama every year 😄 If our offense shows a pulse and can score 20-24 points we should be good vs Barn and Arky. This defense is stout. Should get to Bama at 5-1 here in Neyland. How much the offense progresses will dictate whether or not we have a shot to beat the Gumps IMO. Knowles and staff have been amazing. Super impressed
Agree… if we can force brown to have to pass to beat us we’re in a good spot. He’s shown he’s mistake prone

I’m hoping we find out just how good the Texas Dline is this week by looking considerably improved along the OL. It’s obvious there’s only so much that can be done about it at this point, but I’m hoping for a “get right” performance

I love their rationale. "We played a top 10 team not as close as score indicated. TN played the number 1 team not as close as score indicated. We aren't getting enough credit for almost losing to Baylor and Vanderbilt."

It's like something you would see written here.
