I know the season hasn't gone like planned, but I will sill do these posts no matter the disappointment the season brings
Talking about the spread and UT being favored.

Talking about the spread and UT being favored.
That’s a BS spread. Hogs should be favored by 3.
If anything, this game is a push.
We were (from what I saw) anywhere from 10-14 point dogs against a top ten team at their place. I don't know squat about Tennessee, but apparently they aren't any better than we are...if that. And it's at RRS.
What gives? I know the line is to attract more bettors, but they are awfully damn close a lot of times. The home team gets four points right from the get-go, or at least they used to back when I bet here or there with my local guy. So that's a surprise to me, too.
Even other fans agree with the QB situationI see three very winnable games in the last 5 Tennessee is the first of those three
Wonder if Vegas expects vols to start a different QB? They would be dangerous if they found a good and consistent QB
Tennessee has talent. They have a good OLine and can run the ball. So far we have done the best against pass first teams. So in some ways we could have the same trouble we had against ATM. Their QB isn’t as good as Mond. Defensively if they have a lead they can be pretty stout.
So this ain’t a gimme by no means. We will have to stop the run. And our offense will need to get going early. Scoring early and getting a good lead will put pressure on them to get away from their run game. If we can force their QB into having to pass more, then our chances improve dramatically to win this game.
If we get behind again by a couple scores it will be a lot tougher on us to pull this one out.
Whats with the loveHogs will have a tough time beating TN. TN has an extra week to prepare for the game and A&M exposed the Hog defense. If they let the TN QB get off to a good start by not pressuring him, it will be a long night.
Tennessee also has a very good offensive line and they have playmakers all over the field. The Vols will be ready
Did A&M have a bye week before playing Arkansas too?the opposing qb has been they key to the hog defensive scheme. Mond was patient and grounded the no fly zone. The two Razorback wins were a direct result of the hog defensive scheme and their ability to turn over weak quarterbacks. The Vol qb is as capable of playing like the Mississippi qb’s as he is playing like Mond. If the Razorback defense has indeed been exposed it could end up being a situation much like the Razorbacks gave the sec a game plan to handle Miss. St. offense. Did aTm show the sec how to out scheme Odom and the Hogs?
This is what scares meToo much of an overreaction to our defense vs A&M. Losing Catalon was huge as he is the prototypical safety of this era with his ability to cover lots of ground, play coverage and is a very physical tackler. We were also down a CB since the quitter quit. Our LBs dropped a couple of interceptions as well. Mond otherwise played a perfect game and made more throws into tighter windows than most college QBs will. Their extra week to prepare showed. Now we'll see if Tenn's qbs will be as accurate and patient - if we slow their running game which will be the key to force them to throwing.
we have a chance depends on which tennesse qb shows up
Talking just UT gameTennessee had their bye week to get ready. They have their backs against the wall as they were expected to be good this year and possibly challenge Georgia/Florida for Eastern Supremacy. Grumbling has picked up and they see this as a winnable game in a tough stretch for them. They have better talent but have been playing poorly. I expect we get their best shot but if our offense will continue to improve that the Hogs can get this done.
Arkansas put up a respectable effort against an, I think, elite team that played a near-perfect game, that was very ready for the game. Sucks because, the effort the Razorbacks put up would beat the Aggies most years.
But this Tennessee game is very exciting. The Razorbacks came out of College Station very healthy, hopefully. A&M packed the stadium, including fans yelling right behind the Razorback bench, I’m very fearful that may have infected a large portion of the team. If the Razorbacks can’t play because of covid, it would probably be to their benefit, to eliminate Tennessee’s bye week advantage.
However, assuming covid isn’t running rampant through the team, they should be healthy against Tennessee. The offense seems to really be clicking, and they have more weapons than they know what to do with. I think Trelon Smith, Burks, Boyd, Warren, Woods, and Henry are all just scratching the surface of what they can do and are really starting to emerge as dynamic playmaker. The offensive line is key to their success, and I think they are ready to make a huge jump against Tennessee.
The defense yesterday was a few third and longs away from having a great game, and I think will return to getting turnovers with, as I mentioned earlier, getting healthier (Brown, Pool and Morgan), and the return of Catalon.
Throw in the fact that it’s a night game at home, with fan enthusiasm running high, and I think Tennessee could be walking into a buzzsaw.
-Eternal optimist out.
Odom’s schemes will have Guarantano on the bench before halftime.
The Vols run a similar system to the Aggies. It will be a tough game. I think we win by a TD at home.
Bama is clearly better than A&M. We're playing Florida at the Swamp, which is a huge advantage for them. We are better than Tennessee, LSU and Missouri.
Everyone in Knoxville is clamoring for guarantano to be benched. The off week would be a great time for vols to do that. I hope JG starts because he sucks. One of the young guys could light a fire in them
A good one to end onUT is big, run heavy, and strong like A&M so they will learn a lot from our film against A&M. What UT doesn't know is how much impact getting Catalon will bring and how much we stick with a 4-2-5. Now we know the 3-2-6 was weak against A&M and switched to the 4-2-5 later in the game. We don't know how much confidence our offense gained from the A&M game. We hung with A&M, got 2 scores down, then came back which was enough to show our best offense of the year. We did not get any turnovers to help and this was against a very good defense. Will the Oline continue to improve and will any other WRs improve too?
Boyd wasn't close to 100%, nor is Gerald, nor either LB so we could get them more healthy this week.
I hate everything about Tennessee, The Colors, The Fans, The fight song......And 1998
