Regroup time. The season gets back on track this week with a win, Volnation gets back on track this week with weekly threads, and all is right in the world. We are still on the road to the East. From there, who knows.

From South Carolina boards you can really deduce 2 things: They don't like us (you'll see some pretty classless posts below), and they think they can win. Honestly, I was surprised at how much they want "revenge" on us and how much they have a passionate disdain for Tennessee, considering we pretty much only think about them once a year, for one week.

Without further ado, here's what the cock-loving faithful are saying about Saturday's matchup in Williams-Brice:

______________________________________________

-To reiterate, they hate us. Not like that "I hate my rivals" type of hate, but more like a "I want their players to get injured" kind of hate.
I wish them nothing but the worst. This is gonna sound horrible, but whatever terrible things happen to their program, short of the tragic death of a player of course, wouldn't make me shed a tear. I have absolutely no sympathy for them.
I would love nothing more for Bentley to make insane completions, and get a bunch of roughing the passer calls. He is totally capable of being the cocky man on the field and shutting down the thuggishness of those UT defenders.
Vols know how to break our fan's hearts and break our player's legs. Payback would be great.

-For any that haven't kept up with South Carolina football, they are now starting a true Freshman QB, 5* Jake Bentley, and the fan base is extremely excited about him.

-They seem to unanimously think they cover the spread.

-They are EXTREMELY unhappy with Roper and the offensive playcalling. They basically think he is only on staff because he is close with Muschamp.

-They firmly believe they will beat one of UF, UT, or Clemson.

-They're on to our game plan.......
If any program deserves it's comeuppance it's Tennessee. They act like thugs, intentionally injuring star players and the NCAA has done nothing to curb this sick behavior.

-I'm only posting this one for the butthurt and the great signature line:
**** UT, and **** their lucky come-from-behind wins this season. That was a string of luck. They deserved to lose to Georgia and App State.

"I liked the old coaching staff better"

-To shift direction, a couple of classy posts on Kamara being ruled out:
The initial fear is he'd be out for the rest of the season. Good news for the kid is, it's not as serious as they once thought.
I'm glad hes not hurt too long, but also glad we don't have to defend against him

-I couldn't help but laugh, I came across a thread simply titled "127", the thread was just a link to the NCAA team rankings for scoring offense, showing they are 127 out of 128.

-Here's the overconfidence:
Just have a feeling we pull it out somehow. I think Bentley is going get us going. A few turnovers on defense and a blocked punt. I would love to beat the Vols!
Our next 4 are winnable games with A effort from players and coaches. None of those 4 teams are great.

-This is the official "We Aren't a Good Team" conversation:
But it's been talked about a little bit on here but I wanted to share the rules for picking 5-7 teams for bowls. After all bowl slots are filled, 5-7 teams are eligible based solely on Academic Progress Rate (APR). Last year, 3 schools (Nebraska, Minnesota, San Jose St) all made bowl games in this way and there may be even more this season with 40 bowls (and 80 slots) to fill.
Our APR is 972, which is OK but not spectacular. The full list can be found here, if you sort by sport and academic year.

-A few fan thoughts on the team:
-Jake Bentley by far is our best option at qb. Imho, it was stupid to play BM every time we got in the red zone. Bentley is the future, give him every opportunity to show he can lead the team
-Our OL is bad and getting worse. WIll be interesting to see how WM will address this at year end.
-Our safeties are embarrassing. We will be better off playing two true freshmen next year.

-This is terrific:
WE CAN STILL WIN THE EAST!!!!

we just have to hope for the following...

UF beats UGA, then loses to us, arky and LSU (possible)

UK Loses to mizzou, UGA and UT

UT loses to us, beats KY, loses to Mizzou and beats vandy

UGA loses to FL, beats UK and loses to Aub

Vandy loses to aub, mizzou, olemiss, and beats UT

We win out with UT, Mizzou and UF

Mizzou beats UK, loses to us, beats vandy, beats UT and arky game won't matter.

And the responses:
So Vandy has to beat UT, and UT has to beat Vandy? Looks like we're out.
And just like that, OP's dreams are crushed
we need to move to the sun belt conference

-General score predictions have it as a 28-31 type game. The predictions of who comes out on top vary, roughly 60% or so saying UT, 40% South Carolina.

Butch seems to have South Carolina's number, no reason to stop now. If you're going to the game, get loud and let them know you're there.

Let's get win #1 of 5 this week.

GBO!!!

Can someone fill me in on the whole "injuring star players" and "thiggishness" parts? What are they referring to exactly?

They think we purposely ended Marcus Lattimore's career.

They also blame us for Chubb last year and every other injury Georgia has ever sustained in the history of their program.

Some think the hit on Lattimore several years ago was us targeting his legs and intentionally hurting him. Also some believe we were responsible for Chubbs injury last year. It's just ignorance.

Can we just go out and hang 60+ on these chumps? When's the last time UT scored 60+? I want to see Hurd steam roll a few guys and Josh Dobbs work his magic. A lot of points in this game will get this fan base in the right mindset to finish the season strong. Go Vols!

I'm a bit worried about this game only because we have played down to their competition SO MANY TIMES when we were by far the better team (2015, 2007, 2006, 2003, 2001, etc) - So many times South Carolina had no QB at the beginning of the year and then we would make someone look all-SEC. Sure a lot of that was Spurrier, but I just hope we don't come out slow on offense, making turnovers, and letting a new QB pick our hobbling defense apart.

Okay, thanks. I knew about the Georgia injuries, but didn't think people could be that... umm.. delusional to think they were intentional.

It wasn't too long ago that a few posters on here suggested UT leave the SEC for more "success" in a lesser conference.

Not so long ago indeed. And one of our "insiders" stated we would never be relevant again...read some threads and that would be the thinking.

I don't know about 60, but I would definitely feel great about a thrashing to get us rolling in the right direction. Play this one close and I feel like we're bound to play them all close down the stretch, raising the chance we lose again.

Really? Glad I missed that. Probably happened before I joined last year. But it is truly depressing that we have people with that much ignorance in our fan base.

Not sure why USCjr hates us so much. All we do is beat them every year and move along to the next game. What is the big deal with that?

I have never forgotten the way Muschump acted after beating us in Neyland and the things he said to the tune of he'd never been so happy to see so many unhappy fans in their own backyard... He has very little class, if any at all, and I am still shocked someone gave him another head coaching job... I know Butch did not care for his interview with the reporter right after the game. I hope we hang as many points as possible on these guys and finally play with our hair on fire for four quarters, not two.... Don't give these guys even a prayer to think they can hang with us... Dobbs will run wild, I can feel it...

Georgia's RB get hurt walking to the store! How is that our fault? SC is mad because we've skunked them 3 yrs in a row in upsets!

Honestly Jax, had the same thought.

Do any Vol fans give 2 seconds of thought to the SCar game over the course of a 365-day calendar year? I know I don't. I don't like them, I don't dislike them.

Honestly, just couldn't care less about them. Like you said, theyre just a quick W and that's it. Surprised to see some of them have so much dislike for us. It's a little weird IMO.

Only upset was 3 years ago when Palardy kicked the game winner . But I agree with the other thoughts. All we did was push Chubb out of bounds....he's the one fell awkwardly under his own weight and screwed thst knee up. It wasn't his fault and it certainly wasn't ours. Just one of those things that happens in football.
