Screw Bama.
To no one's surprise, they are extremely confident. It actually is quite easy to distinguish the typical fans from the ones that know football. Most of them think they steamroll us, a handful of others are very self-aware that this Bama team has some weaknesses that can be exploited, and that Tennessee is a dangerous team.
Without further ado, here's what the "Roooowwww Taaahhhddd" faithful are saying about Saturday's matchup in Neyland:
_____________________________________________
-Overconfidence:
-Could be huge
EDIT: Per their boards now Foster has been cleared.
-FYI regarding injuries, per their board, players have to practice by Wednesday or they don't play Saturday. Saban's rule supposedly.
-Bama fan observation from the A&M game:
-On Tennessee:
-This is what happens when our fan base predicts a loss:
-This is a post by Wes Rucker on their board, FYI:
-Aside from Fitzpatrick, they are currently unhappy with the play of their DB's. Saying teams keep picking on Marlon Humphrey.
-In a thread discussing the betting line, it's about 50/50. About half think it's too high, while the other half thinks they roll.
-They love Jalen Hurts, however they feel one area he is really lacking is the deep ball.
-Irony (and classlessness) of the O'Brien situation:
-Fun fact: South Carolina is the only SEC team to have beaten Bama last time they played.
-They actually speak very highly of Knoxville:
-Discussing their weaknesses:
-This is what they think about Hurd returning...
-General score predictions have them winning by 14-17. Usually with us scoring no more than 21-24.

BLOW. THEIR. EARDRUMS. OFF. In Neyland Saturday. I want their little baby true freshman QB to literally fear for his life on every down. We're going to win this football game.
GBO.

The more I analyze this game the more I think Bama wins and wins very convincingly.
UT was never as talented or as deep as the national media made them out to be preseason and we saw that in the opening games. This coupled with the string of injuries they have sustained i say Bama comes out and plays a complete game.
Bama offense will put up at least 43 points.
Bama Defense puts all the pieces together and hold UT to 17 or fewer points. I predict we give up one or two big pass plays but overall the backfield holds tight. I think where we shine is in shutting down Dobbs as a runner. Again, he might get one long run....but overall we pin him in.
I agree. I think we win anywhere from 17-21 points. I think they score late to make it that close. We empty the stadium by the start of the 4th quarter.
Ut will get smashed.
-Could be huge
Here are several observations from the media viewing portion of Alabamas Tuesday practice in Tuscaloosa:
- Linebacker Reuben Foster (concussion) and offensive guard Alphonse Taylor (concussion) were not on the field during the two media viewing periods Tuesday. Taylor was spotted inside the football facility in a black jersey.
EDIT: Per their boards now Foster has been cleared.

-Bama fan observation from the A&M game:
Man did they put the ball on the ground a lot. We've been forcing TOs but they give them away freely. But here's the things we have to keep in mind:
1. They play hard and won't give up. That doesn't make them special, it just is what it is. But they aren't us. Frankly the game against A&M shouldn't have gone to OT even w/ the comeback but Aggie choked.
2. They used the heck out of Kamara and he is explosive. A&M kept trying to bump tackle the guy which significantly boosted his stats but the guy is a player and much better for their offense than Hurd. The ran a lot of screens and Dobbs checked down to Kamara often. We'll have to make sure someone keeps an eye on him coming out of the backfield...but maintain eye control.
3. They are razor thin. An injury anywhere and they have a HUGE hole.
-On Tennessee:
SEC stat rankings
10th in scoring defense 26.7 ppg
10th in rushing defense 183 per game
10th in total defense 399 per game
9th in time of possession 28:34 per game
10th in sacks allowed 14 total 2.33 per game
14th in fumbles 21 Bama leads in fumbles caused 11
13th in fumbles lost 8
13th in plays of 40 yards or more allowed 9 total 6 pass 3 rush
14th in interceptions thrown 8
14th in opponents red zone td conversion rate 23 attempts 15 touchdowns 65.22%
and teams have scored on 21 of 23 attempts which is 14th
13th in turnover margin -3
Adding this one. Tennessee has lost 25 straight games against top 10 teams.
-This is what happens when our fan base predicts a loss:
There are at least 5 Messages over there complaining about the LSU/Florida Game. Guess they are worried about getting a 2nd Loss and Florida be in the Driver Seat.
-This is a post by Wes Rucker on their board, FYI:
I'll be around all week for whatever y'all need.
And, as always, remember that I just cover Tennessee. I don't pull for or against the Vols. There are good people and bad people at Tennessee, Alabama and everywhere else, and to me it's all colors of laundry unless the glorious Chicago Cubs, Arsenal FC or USMNT are involved. I like good people and don't like turds.

-Irony (and classlessness) of the O'Brien situation:
The DNA results came back from his girlfriend and butch found out they werent related. He has acknowledged his mistake and going to a family reunion this weekend, it may be too little too late.
-Fun fact: South Carolina is the only SEC team to have beaten Bama last time they played.
-They actually speak very highly of Knoxville:
Go to Market Square, or down Gay Street downtown. I like hiking, so I try to go to House Mountain every time.
I think you'll like Knoxville . Good breweries and nice scenery.
It all depends on your preferences, but they definitely have plenty to do around town. Cumberland Ave is basically their "Strip", their downtown is lively and full of good eateries, and it's a really beautiful city.
I think you'll enjoy it. If not Knoxville, all of east Tennessee. I'm actually trying to get a job to move out there.
I've only stopped in there for lunch on the way to Asheville. I'll recommend Stock & Barrel though as a great burger joint with solid beer selection.
-Discussing their weaknesses:
If we can get the seconadary some much needed inspiration and help, we will win it all.
The blown assignments by the safeties.
The loose coverage by the corners.
The bad personnel decision making by the coaching staff to line up linebackers on receivers.
Playing zone, when we should be in man with split safeties.
Not turning your head around and playing the ball.
Not utilizing defensive timeouts when you have them in your pocket. This can stall opponent drives.
Just like to add that our pass defense always gets shredded by good QBs, and QBs that throw jump balls.
Teams who can slow down our pass rush and throw the ball will have a distinct advantage over us
-This is what they think about Hurd returning...
Honestly minus a couple
Fumbles I think Kamara is actually a more dangerous threat in the run and pass game. Hurd playing isn't a bad sign for us.
Love seeing Hurd back to take touches away from Kamara
Kamara was deadly last week, he's not a great blocking back, but he's fast.
-General score predictions have them winning by 14-17. Usually with us scoring no more than 21-24.
