[Bama draws Auburn, Tennessee, and Miss State as permanent rivals]
* This is what I was expecting.
* This is what I wanted.
* Sucks to be Ole Miss and Arkansas.
* Tennessee...get away with a very favorable permanent schedule. It should have been Florida and not Kentucky....
* I still hate the 3 permanent "rivals". There are a few teams that have none. The SEC tried their best to manufacture a few. Arkie vs LSU comes to mind. USCe vs literally anyone. Seriously, who is their rival? Other than Ole Miss, who is Miss State's?
* Let's not ignore the fact that we've played LSU every year for over 60 straight years. And post-Bryant, the series has been relatively even. I do agree that it is more favorable for us to play Miss St.
* Length of series and geography do matter sometimes. I don't think UT considers Vanderbilt a historical competitive "rival" either.
* I'd take LSU, UGA, Texas, OU...anybody who we've competed against for higher stakes over MSU. But LSU is the who most fits.
* I'm good with the barn, viles and clanga. It makes the most historical sense.
* LSU is only a "traditional rival" to fans who started watching after Nick was hired. But I've been a Bama fan for 40 years and never considered LSU as one of our traditional rivalries. It has always only been Auburn and Tennessee.
* Barn and Garbage Convention was a given. I'm okay with State but "them damned cowbells!!!"....
* The Oklahoma vs Ole Miss rivalry, a tradition like no other.
* Bama and Clanga campuses are the two closest in the conference, plus we have played them more than anyone except Tennessee.
* I'd have been fine keeping MSU, LSU and UT and moving AU to the rotational....
* Looks like Auburn got it worst. Vanderbilt got the best. [JP note--Vandy and Bama have the same permanent 3, heh]

[Vandy draws Auburn, Tennessee, and Miss State as permanent rivals]
* I can kinda see Auburn but Miss St makes no sense. Should be Kentucky.
* Who made these poor choices??? Let's forget long time foes and rivalries, nice job clowns! It should be KY and Ole Miss, along with UT. What are these idiots thinking???
* As long as we've still got Tenn- I'm good. Otherwise, just feel very fortunate to already be in the SEC - in a world that seems barreling towards a "Power 2".....
* I think Vandy just landed with whoever had to lighten their load outside of Tennessee who was a natural rival.
* I tell you what truly has become a whopper of a series IMO (if not an emotionally charged rivalry) is us vs Mizzou. Some great games over the last decade.
* Kentucky needs to be on our list. Geography and tradition. Amazing.
* What doesn't make sense is Auburn, Mississippi State, and Tennessee. Over the past 20 yyears we have barely played MSU and just barely more for Auburn. How are those rivals?
* This gives us and Alabama the exact same permanent opponents. It can't be right.
* Maybe they figure since we will be battling Bama for conference championships the next several years, they wanted us to have matching schedules?
* But the Rebels do get their storied rivalry with Oklahoma back....
* Tennessee got the easiest. UK and VU are perennial doormats. Vols always get the breaks. [yes, this is a Vandy fan talking, heh]

* Who ya got? I'm thinking South Carolina, Tennessee and Vanderbilt
* That would make the most sense, though I could see SC getting switched for Mizzou.
* I don't think we'll get a favorable schedule.... The league sees us as an automatic win so we'll probably get something like Georgia, Florida, South Carolina.
* Permanency is unimportant to me. A nice rotation...is more appealing although it makes sense to keep Tennessee as a regular, I guess.
* There was a leak...that UT's three permanent opponents are Bama, UK and Vandy.
* That makes perfect sense for UT. UK is trickier as we don't have a lot of clear so-called rivals. I would say SC and Vandy make the msot sense but don't see UK getting both those.
* I don't think Uk Tenn should be a given. It's not been a true rivalry in a long time. In fact it's been a slaughter. I don't see how it could be fair to give Tenn both Vandy and UK as permanent opponents.
* If I had my choice it would be Vandy, Missouri, Arkansas.
* To be the best you have to beat the best give me Texas, Georgia and Alabama. I'm kidding I honestly don't care...but if I had an honest choice it would be Vandy, UT, and South Carolina.
* You know in the end the SEC won't do us no favors anyway. We will definitely ennd up with 3 that we don't want.
[announcement made -- UK gets Vols, USCe, and Florida]
* Right on cue we are going to have South Carolina and 2 schools (UT & UF) that held like decades-long winning streaks over us.
* TN probably came out the best of all with Vandy, UK and Bama.
* Yah dumbest **** ever. Locking UK in with 2 schools they historically rarely beat. Most of the time it's not close.
* UK and USC Jr got screwed the worst.
* UK has had some success against UF and USC. So I guess we shouldn't complain a ton. But it's up to the school and Admin if they want to remain competitive with them. UT's style of play is something UK can't handle as long as Stoops is here.
* I was thinking about the UT offense yesterday. UT loses Nico and some top receivers and they don't miss a beat. The last I heard Nico is having an average year. I wish UK could have an offense like that.
* IMO Tn and LSU got the best draws, everyone else got the worst lol! Not many easy trips in SEC football.
* I hate the way this works out for UK. UK's records against these 3 are USC (14-21-1), UF (21-54), UT (20-80-8). That's a grand total of (55-155-9). I can't see any way to spin this as a positive. It looks like every consideration has been made to manipulate as many Bell cow teams to the playoffs as possible.

* With our football team at the bottom of the SEC we have no bargaining power. We have 4 rivals and you would think we could play at least 3 of them every year, but I highly doubt it will happen, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee and Auburn should be on our schedule every year.
* I think we get... UGA, LSU/AUB, TENN/USCe/UK
* It won't shock me if it is UGA, SC, and UK. It will piss me off, though.
* I thought Georgia, Tennessee and LSU were our three moving forward.
* Gimme Tennessee Georgia LSU
* What most Florida fans think our 3 permanent opponents will be: TN, GA, SEC Officials
* UGA is the toughest draw in the league for the forseeable future. So I am OK with taking a UK over LSU. I'm also OK with taking South Carolina over Tennessee. ... Do you really want to play a murder schedule every year...?
* I bet everyone is hoping they have us on their schedules.
* "I hope we get Florida"...every other SEC team.
[announcement made -- FL gets Georgia, USCe, and Kentucky]
* I knew we would lose our rivals. Thanks a lot Stricklin. No LSU, no Tennessee, no Auburn. Kentucky and South Carolina are our new rivals. Congrats to the athletic administration for relegating UF to mid tier.
* You need to wake up and smell the coffee. We have been mid-tier for going on 2 decades.
* I like it.
* Yeah, dude. I would say this is a solid.
* That's as easy as we could get. Usually we are bitching about having the hardest schedule.
* I'm glad it's UK and USC. We deserve a break after the scheduling nightmare of all top tier conference opponents we've had for multiple years now. Yeah, it sucks losing LSU and Tennessee, but if it makes our path easier when we get a new coach, I'm all for it.
* Yeah, breaking traditions is tough, and I certainly am going to miss the Tennessee game, seeing as how I live there. But something had to give, and these are ok.
* Tennessee was not a traditional rivalry to Florida. We didn't play them often until the 90's after SC and Arkansas joined the SEC. LSU and Auburn we played every year....
* Oh Miss and Texas A&M got the toughest draws of everybody. It's no surprise that Alabama and Georgia got a fairly easy schedule.
* When you go back 40 years, Tennessee might not be a rival, but I'm 57 and they pretty much been our rival for a long time.
* Glad we kept GA, obviously. I hate losing LSU and I'd rather have TN or Auburn instead of USCe or KY.
* UK and South Carolina ...sadly, we are closer to their level than to LSU or even Tennessee. That sucks but is what it is so maybe it helps a little schedule wise.
* I am going to be a much more casual fan now. If they don't care, neither do I.

* Looks like Tennessee won the permanent opponent sweepstakes.
* It's only for 4 years but yeah, UT and UF got it easy.
* These people are fools, UT UF is too big a game to sacrifice.
* Tennessee lobbied for Vandy and UK. If I had to guess, Florida probably said, "that's fine, we're good with USCe and UK." It's a pragmatic decision for both programs; no need to make the schedule harder than it has to be.
* Those are the 3 I'd choose for us [UGa's draw is Auburn, Florida, USCe]. I'm good.
Okay, that's it for now.
Go Vols!
[with apologies to @NO SIR EEE for getting in his lane; I just had an idea and ran with it]
