On one hand, it’s a Thursday night game against a mediocre bane opponent. On the other hand, UT set a record for new season ticket sales and there seems to be a lot of excitement.

Think we’ll have 90k? 95k?

Obviously, a Thursday night game cuts out a good chunk of fans from outside the area since it requires taking days off. That said, if I lived within an hour or two of Neyland, you couldn’t keep me out.

My wife and I will be in attendance, so that makes 2. I know several people that have season tickets that are not going because they live too far and do not want to use vacation days for Ball St.

My guess is 78K for the game attendance.

I think attendance may surprise. Excitement is building for this season with a lot of folks that I talk with.

I am making the trip from Nashville with 3 other people who are not regular attendees of games - I typically go to 1-2 games a year and already have Ball State and Florida tickets in hand.

How can it be a record for NEW season ticket sales when we added like 16,000 when they completed the South end zone upper deck? And you have to determine how many people did NOT renew this year since we only had 57,000 total ticket sales.

I'm going with 85K to 90K...we might even go past 90K.

Yes, it's a Thursday game against a mediocre opponent but anticipation and excitement around the program hasn't been this high in years...almost decades.
It's the Thursday before Labor Day weekend in one of the most beautiful / popular tourist areas of the country in what is really the first year after the pandemic shutdowns - a lot of people will be making it an extended weekend.
Last - keep an eye out for the UTAD to do a 'flash' sale sometime that week to boost the sales even further...lots or more local folks will take advantage of those 10 - 20 dollar tickets.
