After reading the "First game at Neyland" thread, it got me to thinking. I have always took pride in the fact that I do everything that I can to avoid missing a game. How many games in a row have you not missed? My current streak as of now dates back to the 1995 Mississippi State game at home that I could not attend. I missed 2 home games (Georgia and Miss St.) that season due to injury from a car wreck. I since have not missed attending a home game. I had not missed watching an away game, that I did not attend ,on TV until this years ARK game (if I had to miss one, I guess this was one of the better ones). This was due to a wedding of a close friend that I was in the wedding. However, I was the guy in the corner during the reception with the cell phone watching the game tracker online. Thanks to him he planned around the home schedule! :)

So please share your own stories!

Believe me, I catch enough grief around here because of it. She could care less about going, and I just don't understand how someone could not love UT football

Yes, she would agree as much. She is very luck, as am I, for having someone as supportive and patient as her. It's not like I MAKE her go. She chooses to go to the games with me, because she likes the atmosphere, and spending time with me. It's that she's just not the biggest football fan around.

I'm sorry, I did not realize this was a thread on whether or not I was to be chosen as husband of the year.

I was only interested in everyone's stories and too share their own excitment about the university.

OK, sorry. I watch every game I can. However, being on the other end of the state, being old as dirt and workin' my a$$ off I only make about a couple of games live a year. Thank goodness we get a whole helluva lot of games on the tube!!!! :dance2: Sorry I haven't kept a running tally of games I've actually watched live or televised..

Well, maybe you just have a double vaginal helping then.

It is not "a little sad" that a man watches all of his team's games. That's what we do. On game day....well, we watch our team.

Please be a little more introspective about your own team-watching life, sir. Are you sure you're not a little too interested in all the wedding-day activities?

I'm not the right guy to talk about this since, as I've mentioned before, I watched 4 quarters of Tennessee football on my wedding night. You've got to train them right. :hi:

back on topic, I don't have any sort of streak. I've never even been to two games in a row because i've never lived close enough. I did however make the drive down to the bowl game in the rain and I do make a couple every year....other than that i watch nearly every game on the tube.

93-99 I did not miss a single home game and actually went to most away games. Moved to AZ in 2000 but still made it back for 1 game a year.

I can only think of 1 game I've missed seeing on TV in the past 20 or so years and that was SC in 2005. I got drawn for a once-in-a-lifetime antelope hunting trip in AZ and couldn't pass it up. I did record it and watch when I got home without knowing the ending. :banghead2:

I can't remember the last time I flat out missed a game. A wedding did force me to miss the entire 2nd half of the 2001 Florida game. After the wedding somebody told me that we had won, but I didn't really believe them because they also told me what I considered to be a wild story about Travis Stephens rushing for 230 yards.

Missing a game for a hunting trip is alot better than missing a game for a wedding.

I typically hit all but one home game every year - I'll skip a sandwich game or the last one be it Vandy or KY. But the best streak story I ever heard was at the 2005 GA game. This old couple was sitting behind me. I introduced myself to them and found out they were GA fans. Real nice, plain folks. Come to find out, the guy and his wife are GA nuts. They travel in an RV and have seen every game GA played in person for the last 31 years. They only game he missed was whenever they played at Washington or somewhere on the pacific coast. I asked him how in the world he did that, and he said the Lord had blessed him with the finances and time to do what he loves, and that's to go see the dawgs play. I was impressed.

That is impressive. They've never played Washington, though. They haven't traveled past the Rockies since 1943. I think it's a waste to buy an RV just to travel a couple hundred miles.

I was thinking the same thing as I read that. GA hasn't been north of Kentucky in about 40 years. They are still getting over the news back in 1992 that they would have to make trips to Arkansas.

How about a streak of not being at a UT game. I haven't been to one in 17 years....17 being my age, but I have went to an Orange & White game, if that counts. But I still love the Vols:)
