Grasshopper, that is O Fortuna from the opera Carmina Burana. It was written by German composer Carl Orff between 1936 & 1937 (thank you, Google!). Nowadays it's used in a lot of movie trailers but is best known as the music for the final battle scene in the movie Excalibur.

I could not find a free download online (I didn't look very long), but I can email the full version to you if you like. PM with addy if you so desire.

you may not believe it, but as I googled, I was thinking, "GAVol will beat me to the punch, I bet." :salute:

Just another bit of useless info that I have floating in my mind for no apparent reason.:)

speaking of useless info, what was it you'd written about Sean Hannity? :p Jus' kiddin'!

I posted that originally, but then edited it because I didn't want to veer this thread into a political discussion. :p Just didn't want to pretend like I was an expert in the field of opera.

well, and on that note, let me stress that the info I provided was purely search engine stuff; I've got about as much opera knowledge as Imus has tact (or employment, it would seem). :)

Does mine still count as search engine knowledge if I Googled over a year ago?

I can't speak for anyone else, but given your status here on the board, I'm comfortable with you goin' ahead and reclassifying that as personal trivia knowledge at this point. Any future knowledge will, of course, be considered on a case by case basis. :birgits_giggle:

Children, children. . . .You're ruining the moment. Thanks for the link to a great Friday lunchtime pick-me-up. Reminded me of (yet another) successful road trip and one helluva game.
