What is the prognosis?

I don't follow recruiting like I did 10 years ago. I have a broad questions for those of you "in the know".

Rivals has us at 23 right now. Vanderbilt is ranked ahead of us. Do we have the potential to get a top 10 class? Does the trend in recruiting look good? If Pedophile State and Candy are ahead of us that seems like a bad sign.

I know it is early but dayum.

Too early. Candy was ahead last year as well. The rankings on current commits will be adjusted as the season plays out and the staff is in on some good to great ones that will commit closer to time, subject to how well the season goes. If we have a good season it will probably end up Top Ten.

Vandy is only ahead right now because of the number of commits they have at this point, not the stars assigned to them. The quality of the talent in UT's class is already better than Vandy's. By NSD it will also be ranked higher.

THANK YOU. I get so sick of hearing about midsummer recruiting rankings for this reason. They are completely asinine for EXACTLY the reason you stated. Is our class looking awesome right now? No. Is Vandy going to have a better class than we do on NSD? Never.

I think we have just as many recruits as vandy but our JUCO guys have not been rated yet. If they were,we would be way ahead of vandy.

How is it that Paterno State has a higher ranked class? Is it expected to crumble? That place is burning down.

vandy has 1 more commitment not a big difference at all(14 to 15)

I think most of their recruits are waiting for the ruling on the penalties. I still cannot fathom why someone would want to play there with all that's happened.

I remember this exact same thing being discussed last year in regards to being behind vandy. Dooley always closes strong..we will get ours and finish top 15, just be patient.

Kendrick, Smith, and Goeas aren't ranked. If all three get a 5.5 rating (for now - I think Goeas will be a lot higher by February) UT would be in 17th place ahead of Vandy.

I think the disturbing thing right now is that we are talking about Vandy. We need to talk about how we stack up to bammer, gators, dawgs. Auburn is way ahead of us. We are not stacking up with any of our rivals. We need better talent on a more consistant basis. We have some playmakers this year, I hope thay make play. If this year is not AT LEAST 8 wins we have no choice but to cut Dooley loose and get someone that can recruit on name recognition (ala Saban)

Jon Gruden would probably fit the bill.

They are the worst America has to offer. Any one that chooses to play for those selfish sick jerks is certainly no one I would want to be associated with.
