Whats wrong with our society?? Going into a school and shooting kids.... Sometimes all I can do is be plain disgusted. I remember the worst thing you had to worry about at school was a "playground beat-down"...... No longer...

two solutions to this:

1. stop the insane utopian vision of gun-free college campuses. allow responsible people with conceal/carry permits to carry. Any professors willing should also be trained and armed.

2. turn campuses into armed camps swarming with their own private security forces and metal detectors at every entrance. Allow for vigorous profiling and monitor all electronic traffic on the campus interweb. Conduct random searches of the dormitory areas at least once a week.

Or.....

Quit glorifying these guys on TV. of all the shootings lately I know all about the shooter and nothing of the victims. I mean you can still run the story on the news but just dont give us a detailed look into the killers life or why we should feel sorry for them.

Can't help but think that #1 won't help much. Guys like the NIU shooter did their business so quickly no one could have responded. Guys like the Va. Tech shooter will just find alternatives and ways around it. Besides, in the long run, I'd wager dollars to doughnuts that the number of people actually saved by professors being armed would be outweighed by the number that get killed by the professors, either by accident or intentionally when not warranted as self-defense.

As to #2, that might have an effect. But I wish we could come up woith a way to better deal with these things before we go to college at the equivalent of Ft. Bragg.

Oh, I know, maybe we can outlaw all guns of any kind. That will mean nobody ever gets shot again. Maybe the media can help by continually running horrible stories about innocent vitims getting shot and ignoring every story in history about a person using a gun to defened him/herself or someone else.

....Guns or No Guns...Without sounding "girly" and "mushy" .... Its about the love of humanity... its about respect... tolerance... guidance... personal responsibility...morality...spirituality... maturity... growth... pride... country...
