When JRM went down, I just rolled my eyes and said "Crap, not again."

Already was severely missing Sutton after Martin got burnt 3 times by Calloway. No DKJr, and Latroy Lewis was still recovering after being banged up.

This is when panic and dread set in thinking about how inexperienced some of our key positions, especially LB, were. And then my eyes were opened up to some very encouraging and surprising play.

Cortez McDowell played a very solid game. Filled the role as well as he could. DILLON BATES! Man, what a site for sore eyes that guy was. I have been wondering where he was for 3 years now and was so disappointed he had yet to be a bigger contributor. It made me so happy to see him step in a play a vital role on the defense.

Bryant and Bituli!!! True freshmen Bituli looked pretty solid out there. Dude has so much potential. Looked fast and crisp. Still has a lot to learn but was very encouraging.

I know I am missing a few but those are the ones that stood out.

TL;DR I was pleasantly surprised to see so many new and young faces step in and show out. I hope the consistency keeps up. Would love to see Bates become a key player.

The fact that the fans didn't rush the field and tear the goal posts down. Instead, most everyone stayed and went crazy from the stands.

Showed a lot of poise on our part.

I did love finally getting to see Bryant out there, particularly when the game still mattered. Also a Dylan Bates sighting was certainly cool, plus he played well.

Martin gave up 2 long passes not 3. Not trying to be mean just trying to be accurate.
