What if?

Believe it or not, I think Georgia may have title hopes. It would be a real longshot, but, wow!

I think Georgia would have to have us lose and then beat LSU in the SEC title game to make it there IF those are things happen.

It is unlikely. I also can't see WVU losing, but it is interesting to think about.

WVU loses to UConn, Mizzou beats Kansas this week then gets beat by OU in the big 12 champ game....OSU plays.......Hawaii?? I guess it depends on how far down LSU drops. Since Arizona St got killed by USC that might let LSU back into the game if they dominate the SEC CG.

that's possible....it'd probably be between them and USC. and after what USC did to ASU, and with UCLA still on the schedule.....USC is "finishingi strong" and will probably be the one to keep an eye on.

For GA to get there, they'd have to have WVU lose, us to lose, they beat GT and LSU, and probably need USC to lose to UCLA as well.

I don't like USC, but I would be interested to see the mental breakdown of millions of people if they made it to the title game.

I want Hawaii in the BCS title game. If they beat Washington next week they should get a shot. They would be the only undefeated team. If Boise St can beat OU, Hawaii can beat WVU or Kansas or OSU or whatever. At least give them a shot if they go unbeaten.

That's sensible. I think they'd be mauled by any of the above, but maybe not.

Say they do get a crack at it. 3 things can happen.

-They get mauled, and the world realizes that BSU over a (relatively) poor Oklahoma team was a fluke. The "Mid Major" lobby is quiet.

-They Win. Unbeliveable. But possible, we've seen how tOSU's zone works against offenses who love quick tosses spread all over the field. The BCS is proven to be stupid, and things revert back to the old ways, as a playoff won't happen.

-They hang in there, making for a watchable game. A mixture of the above 2 things happens.

I am not against a playoff, but it will be the same old crap as the BCS. We can't play football 2 times in 4 days, so it's not going to be like the BBall tourneys. If you invite 16 teams, there will be 12-14 schools sitting out saying they should have been in the tournament.
