What if?

I don't understand your use of disingenuous. Apparently my definition of "going south" is different than yours. Nothing disingenuous about that. As far as the question goes, I never call for a coaches head so I don't have an answer to that question. It is up to management to make that determination.

I'm not sure if you want me to take that response seriously. If you don't think we're going South, than are we staying even under Holly or improving ? I think even you would have to admit that our results aren't improving.
Which leaves staying even. Which is also demonstrably not true over her tenure as HC.
If the LV's lost every game they played in the next two years, would you than promote a coaching change ?

What would it take to want to retain her?

Consistent effort & fundamentals shown from beginning of season to end.

When that is done, the rest takes care of itself. Wins, top seeds, not being upset by unranked teams, no 3-point quarters, no end-of-game meltdowns throwing away supposedly-safe leads.

It's understandable that there will be growing pains & mistakes with young players. But the effort should be there regardless, and the fundamentals should show.

If those elements are not present, then either the coaches aren't teaching or demanding them or the staff isn't recruiting the right type of players to buy into the team concept.

Possible defections will more than likely be based upon the new coaching hire. If the hire is an assistant from a successful program that might still spur defections, therefore, the best hire for this program is a proven winner. Possibly an ex Lady Vol hire, like Kara Lawson, might be enough to deter defections but I would still hire a known winner with a proven track record.

H3ll, I'd go back to college to play for Kara Lawson! LOL!
