What if Fulmer isn't fired?

With my luck, fulmer upsets bama and keeps his job.

A single win shouldn't have any impact on this decision. A single loss, or even a single season, hasn't put us at this point, and one upset won't undo it. Salvaging the season by advancing to a lesser bowl game for the second time in two years doesn't mean anything except for the fact that for two years in a row, the season has had to be salvaged, and two years befor that, it couldn't be.

He's gone. We're worrying over nothing right now. No source - just my opinion. Way too many people want him gone and are ready to take the kinds of measures expressed in this thread for anything else to happen.

I've thought for a few years that Fulmer would not be nudged out until a sizable majority of the fanbase literally "gave up" on a future with him at the helm. That seems to be happening now. There is a difference between just wanting a new coach and actually giving up on the current coach. It is to the point that many people would be disappointed to see UT win out this year. That's how I feel, except that I can't bring myself to want us to lose.

I am one foot in, one foot out with big games like Alabama. I want to see a win and will be happy when we make a good play (foot in), but will be apathetic if and when we lose, because a change is on the horizon (foot out).

I think that is exactly what has happened.

I think we have to remember, myself included, that a coaching change this year doesn't mean anything in the way of improvements next year...necessarily. On the other hand, a new coach could take us 11-1 or 10-2 next year....who knows. Still a change would at least put us on the road to being competitive in the national picture again.

If he comes back I will be there... I wont agree with the choice thats made, but I cant stop going to Tennessee games. Even though 4 times this fall I have been on suicide watch on sunday I just cant not go... I wanna c a Butch Davis or a Muschamp roaming the sidelines next year, but if not I will still support UT even though I don't agree with the decisions what so ever

I understand that you will support UT. I will always support them but I just wont help financially support them. In all due respect to you, I just think that we cant let the administration tear us down anymore. Its gonna take us as fans to tell them that we will not accept mediocrity and I will not give the University anymore money as long as Fulmer is there. We cannot win with Fulmer and the administration has let that slide on account of the revenue being brought in.

I have to support them with money (tuition) and the parents give to VASF:).
