What helps Vols more with Gators game.

I'm hoping for a hard fought game, with FL almost winning it and leaving everything on the field, and too worn out to get up for our game.

Florida has been, and will always be, a front-runner. If they have their egos bruised thoroughly on Saturday, it will help us. Their fans will begin getting frustrated and pissy, because that is what they do.

Now, the team may be super resilient, but I want whatever puts a damper on that crowd for September 25.

Bama can name the score to any and every game they play this year. They are that good.

And yes, I just vomited in my mouth a little bit.

So you're saying we have a better chance of beating UF than UF has of beating Bama?

Obviously. Is there any doubt about that?

I don't think anyone has a prayer of coming within two touchdowns of Alabama this year. If we do, I'll be mighty impressed.

You know what would really help us against UF...if we LOSE to Tech! See they'll be overconfident and we'll have them right where we want them!

Nothing really helps. Vols have to play a perfect game, get all the breaks, probably a few turnovers and still may lose the game. UF has a deeper more talented team and it will be hot down there where quality depth will matter. I guess playing at night helps somewhat but probably not all that much.. This one is a loss , so you go forward and try to win the tossups. This offense may give them a punchers chance if they clean up the trash penalties and missing wide open receivers running free. Note to Coach. Hey man next time your OC calls shotgun on 4th and 8 inches, consider firing him.

UT so far this season has been unable to demonstrate they can play as a solidly executing football team. Too many turnovers and penalties to date. What that means is Florida does not have to do much other than show up and UT will do things to beat themselves.

Yes. The talent gap and there is one will create a situation where UT has to play damn near perfect to win. Quality depth shows up quickly in the SEC. Not a conference where you can mask your flaws unless you have that guy at QB. UT does not.

whether we wish it so or not, Bama going to throttle the Gators...and everyone except UGA. FL, Bama, UGA's of the world look at us as we used to look at KY/Vandy/MST/OM/SC... doesn't matter really if Gators play Bama or Gainesville Community College... if we can't fine one of our QB's who can complete 20+ yard passes to open receivers.

Either a UF victory that makes them overconfident or an absolute beat down both on the scoreboard and physically.

A close loss... just leaves them hacked off looking for an outlet.
I am hoping Bama flat out beats them up physically. Beat up so bad that not even 85 personal 21 year old big hooter having blue eyed blond Swedish massage specialists could cure with 24/7 around the clock special treatment. Beat up so damn bad mentally that when Mrs. Mullen tongue kisses each one of them it makes them think that it is a normal thing for a grown 49 year old lady to do to an 18 year old boy that she could nearly be the grandmother of. I’m talking completely broken for life.

In a true ”meteor” game, our two biggest rivals play each other this Saturday afternoon in Gainesville.
Bama is a 15 point favorite.
With the Vols up next for Florida, what helps us more.
Do we want Bama to rout them and demoralize them or for UF to pull the upset and then have trouble coming down off of that big high against us?

Doesn't matter either way. And what helps more is to worry about Florida when it comes time to face Florida. Of course if Alabama and Florida get into a huge knock down drag out brawl and half of both team's rosters get suspended or dismissed from the rest of the season? That might help.

If Florida loses and comes in injured and she’ll shocked maybe it helps. But I’d say we loose that one.

If they were to upset bama then we become a trap game. My money would say we win that scenario.

Fun fact since the arrival of Nick Saban Florida has only beat him once…that was his second season in 2008 to Meyer/Tebow. They have lost 7 straight since. It will be 8 after this Saturday. They had their best shot with that offense last season.

Georgia is no better. They have 1 win in 2007 which was his 1st season at Bama…then 6 straight losses themselves.

This is why I wish both played them more often in the regular season. So they can get a dose of automatic loss on their schedules before the season starts. I realize they have a better chance than us at possibly beating them than us. That’s a given. But there is a better chance of driving completely through the entire state of Florida without killing one bug with your front bumper than them beating Saban this year.

Bama beatdown of UF is best case.

UF gets a conference loss.
Bama likely exposes their weaknesses giving us a blueprint for success.
UF probably plays Richardson who may not be fully recovered from his hammy and probably aggravates it.

Long term:
Recruits see UF is no closer than anyone else to beating bama, so they get zero recruiting boost that a W would provide.

Bama beating UF is just business as usual for them and they won’t stand to really gain anything else than a conference win.

Our staff probably isn’t watching any Florida film yet. They’re just sitting back thinking “let’s just watch what Nick does…”
