I know you can look at this from many angles; recruiting, on the field, with the media, etc...
But after 8 games what other coach would you compare CLK too?

vince lombardi the way that he has came in and kicked players off that didn't want to work. He would rather have a less talented player giving 100% than a more talented player giving 80%. Lombardi did the same thing when he got to green bay.

Actually if you've ever researched Lombardi you will see there are a lot of similarities between the two in their coaching styles other than just that. I just hope he can be a successful as the old man.

The love child of Pete Carroll and Steve Spurrier

Maybe this. My problem with the Spurrier reference was that it was all about him. I get the feeling that LK is in charge and wants to take the public heat but also delegates well to his assistant coaches (and wants assistants that could take his job).

I think he'll tone down the smack talk once he gets established.

Steve spurrier Darth Vader mix...if Vader were a football coach. I could totally see Kiffin force choking Brandon warren and throwing him out the door.

I agree with the Carroll/Spurrier coach. He's brash like Spurrier, but inovative like Carroll.

Personality-wise, he's Spurrier. But his organizational/management skills and recruiting all seem to come from Carroll.

Lane Kiffin: the program-building skills, innovation, and football wisdom of Robert Neyland coupled with the intensity of Vince Lombardi and the showmanship of Knute Rockne - with a dash of Bruce Pearl's brashness and media savvy thrown in for good measure.

don't the strength of a silver back gorilla, musicianship of Chopin, girth of John Holmes, and grace of Audrey Hepburn
