While reading about everyone making fun of us for being scared of vanderbilt, I came across several mentions of HB transferring out. One mentioned Florida as a destination. So what happens to the coach that will be the first coach at Tennessee to lose 7 in a row by double digits? Then loses his 5 star freshmen qb that he will not play to our hated rivals. We even Got bumped on the sechdule for missu and vanderbilt. Life long vol fan, I can't believe it has gotten this bad.

Totally wrong. In fact HB will start against Florida next week beginning the new era.

Maurer is a guy that may go to Florida.
Bailey showed enough to get his first start next game. But I doubt Pruitt starts him.

HB is starting. At least that’s what the Man says. He’s ready to play for the future.
I’ve seen multiple people post this and multiple people who should’ve eaten crow afterward as it never happened. I’ll give you your props if and when it happens. Until then, I don’t believe it until I see it.

Ok, what will the next theory be? I guess everyone transfers and no one will sign for the new class. Someone always grasping for straws. lol

What difference does it make? This program has a 5-6 win ceiling under this staff regardless of who we recruit, who transfers in or out. Right now the only concern is getting the right head coach and by extension, the right AD.

Two problems with this:
1) He’s not going to transfer
2) Mullen has never taken a QB transfer. He tried once with Cam Newton, but he had already coached him at Florida.

OP step away from the ledge. Bailey would be an idiot to transfer. He has a crappy QB in front of him. He will be our starter. He just needs to be able to read the defensive set better. That will come with time. Just because some of the insane people THINK we were going to lose to Vandy doesn't mean we will. Fans should be made fun of for freaking out about Vandy. The game getting bumped this weekend had nothing to do with us. It was about everyone trying to get in as many games as they can this year. Mizz was not going to be able to do that if they didn't play this weekend. We have time to make up the Vandy game. Hope this helps with your panic attack.

Not buying it
He doesnt fit what dan likes on offense. Jones sees plenty of playing time to increase the gatos run game now with trask. Dan likes dual threat QBs and jones has looked good passing and throwing so far. Bailey is an old school drop back passer. Hope the oline steps up or he will not be able to play well..
Why would Bailey go a sit behind Jones? Sorry but the Florida fit isnt likely. That doesnt mean he won't transfer but florida is pretty unlikely.

I hope he does, he deserves better. Maybe Maurer and Shrout do as well. I mean, a HC can't keep trotting the same starting QB out there after 3 straight double digit losses, much less 5, can he? Soon to be 6 in a row after the Gators, after playing T A&M, it will be 7 in a season. That's got to be a record.

* I'm assuming Tennessee beats Vandy or loses by less than 10.

What if Pruitt decides to leave? Remember those post when he was first hired, some people were flipping out that everyone would be hiring him away, bla, bla, bla.

Harrison Bailey has been a solid Vol for since his commitment and he has seen what was happening at Tennessee, long before he signed. He wanted the challenge of restoring Tennessee football to a major force in the SEC, the easy path was just take the Alabama offer, or the Georgia offer, or the LSU offer or the Auburn offer, or one of the many, many others.

Pruitt's apparent plan to play JG this year, assuming he was going to be improved in his 5th year, and bring Harrison along for next year made sense, but the fact that JG has completely imploded and is now actually worse than he was in the past 4 years has put Pruitts plan in the dumpster. Pruitt doesn't seem to be able to make the adjustment to get off the JG bandwagon and just move on to Harrison earlier than he wanted to. He may be willing to start Harrison Bailey after this latest schedule change giving 2 weeks to get Bailey ready, or he may continue with the JG show and just write off the year.
