-- we were outclassed by a veteran team full of 4 and 5 stars.
-- OSU had a better game plan on both sides of the ball. Better coordinators on both sides.
-- OSU came in motivated. Vols not so much.
-- we gave up in the 3rd quarter when we punted near midfield.
-- the reality is TN is not that good. The best win this year was Bama, and Vandy also did that.
-- Vols were lucky to be there. We have come a long way since the Cornbread days, but still not elite.
-- need to recruit and hit the portal to close the gap

One team is full of veteran players and coaches who were prepared and ready to play. One is got some talent but immature players and immature coaches who don’t have the right culture of discipline to get their players ready to play in big games.

All this obviously true. Bad showing tonight is embarrassing but shouldn’t necessarily void a pretty successful season where we generally over achieved.

When the o line is trash and gets whipped all night any offense will get completely dominated

OL sucked, QB sucked, WRs sucked, etc. Like I said, Heupels offense was thoroughly dominated YET again.

Why does it always have to come back to "Tennessee isn't very good"? I swear, if that's the case, then what the hell is "very good" anyway? Is it just the last four teams in the playoffs? Anyone with 11 wins? Anyone who makes a conference title game? I know some people want to handwave 10-2, but if 10 win seasons aren't "very good" anymore, then what is very good?

Like, for real. Why does it have to be "Tennessee isn't very good." Yes, Ohio State just punked UT and took our lunch money, but why does that mean Tennessee isn't very good? Why couldn't Tennessee just be "good," and Ohio State was "great"?

Ah. Whatever.

We had a great season and we made the playoff. Go Vols!!! I can't wait for our next game. Hats off to the Buckeyes what a great game you played.

Better talent across the board and it’s not even close. We had no TOs and minimal penalties and still got beat by 25.

When your best player is out of the game that early, it is really hard to overcome. We don't have the depth to just plug and play.

Add in the fact that there’s a few position coaches that need changed.

The single thing that could help us most in 2025 would be for Nico to develop some touch and confidence on long throws and outside shoulder sideline floaters. We NEVER connect on those. Instead, he is normally trying to throw a low fastball to a nearly stationary receiver that he can see is more or less “open”. He can develop the needed touch to make more nuanced throws. Just needs practice and work with the receiving corps. He needs to learn to trust them and to trust himself to drop those passes in safely.

What happened is Josh and his staff are not developing players. Nico is not Peyton manning. And some of our key players quit instead of risking getting hurt late in the season.

The areas of glaring weakness on this team were obvious all year:

1. Oline - simply stated . . . When you are playing Dayne Davis / Karic / that level of player against an elite front like OSU . . . You will get owned. Our oline looked bad against lesser teams like Arkansas and Oklahoma.

2. How is it a banged up oline like OSU dominated us tonight?

At any rate . . . We are not elite on the LOS at all . . . And our defense was very pedestrian post Pili.

3. WRs are very mediocre.

4. No studs at safety . . .

They were better than us tonight. Sorta wonder that face mask on the first series wouldn't have happened, what might have would
One face mask didn't cause this. Coaching and Talent did. Came out in third quarter and should have done something. After that first series after halftime, it was over.
